By Charles Ogugbuaja, Ph.D.
It was a weekend parked season of political mobilisations, consultations, and orography in the four political wards of Nsulu, in Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area of Abia State, which cascaded in organised congregation of meetings of the members of the Abia Arise, comprising strong political pro – group / structure, committed to returning His Excellency, Gov. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, in the February 6, 2027 governorship election, and other candidates (4/4) of the Labour Party (LP).
The wards that had brain storming political meetings included Umuomainta (ward 10), with Ahuruezenma Ugorji, as the Coordinator; Isiala Nsulu (ward 3); Umunna Nsulu (ward 2), and Ward 1.
The following are the coordinators of the wards, Chibunna Okeugo, Ward 1; Sunday Anyanhuforo, Ward 2; Francis Josaiah, Ward 3; Ugorji Ahuruezenma, Ward 10; with Barrah Chiedozie, as the Publicity Secretary
The above four are jointly organising a mega monthly general meeting of the wards, which is going to hold on October 7, 2026, at the Central School, Nbawsi.
During the corollary meeting held at the Linky’s Events Centre, Nbawsi, Umuomainta, attended by about 200 members, the Coordinator, Ahuruezenma Ugorji, said the essence was to reawaken members of the onerous task of firm grip of their polling units in their various wards within the confines of the electoral laws, and strong commitment to ensuring that Gov. Otti is returned, along side with other candidates (4/4 win – win situation, Operation deliver your polling unit) for the LP.
The Deputy Chairman of the Nsulu Stakeholders of the LP, Hon. Gospel Uche Godfrey, urged members of the group to remain firm, resilient and resolute in the task ahead, towards delivering Gov. Otti, and other candidates.
Other contributors in the special meeting, Prof. Anthony Nwanjoku, Dr. Shepard Ebere, Dr. Esther Mbuko, Comrade Precious Omengboji; the Assistant Secretary, Emeka Ogbonna (Okochi); Chibuike Nwanpka; Ugochukwu Ajagba, Esq, among others, urged members to remember the reciprocal nature of their electoral effort, appealing for redoubling of effort to achieve it.
They also reminded every Abia Arise member to attend the scheduled October 7, 2026’s general meeting.
An earlier statement issued by the four ward coordinators, and publicity Secretary in preparation to the October 7, meeting in Nbawsi, had said, “”The Nsulu Chapter of Abia Arise warmly invites all members of Abia Arise, Nsulu Chapter, to her monthly meeting scheduled as follows:
“Date: Wednesday, 7th October 2026; Venue: Central School, Nbawsi; Time: 11:00 a.m.”
The meeting noted that the forum would be used to bring all members, leaders, and stakeholders in Nsulu, together.

“Come one, come all.”
The conveners also lauded and extended heartfelt appreciation to the Governor of Abia State over his achievements in office which have given a facelift to the various parts of the state, especially, Aba and Umuahia.
“The Nsulu Chapter of Abia Arise also extends its heartfelt appreciation to His Excellency, Governor Alex Otti, for his tremendous achievements and the new facelift in Aba and Umuahia.”
…………
WRITER’S NOTE: No doubt, the Abia Arise is His Excellency, Gov. Otti’s long standing strong pro political group and structure under the Labour Party. The political pressure group has powerful showing and standing in Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area, suffice to say in all the 184 wards of the 17 LGAs of Abia State. Their visibility in Isiala Ngwa North LGA, especially in Nsulu, with four wards, is an effort of the Chief of Staff to the Executive Governor of Abia State, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, Ph.D., who comes from the area (Umuezegu, Nsulu). He is loved there. So, Arisians, keep the political and electoral flag of Otti flagging in that vicinity, by sustaining embarking on wide mobilizations of humans and convening of decorous meetings, as you did at the weekend. Gov. Otti’s victory is assured. It is also 4/4 for the LP candidates.

COUNTDOWN TO 123 DAYS OF GOV OTTI’S RE- ELECTION WINDOW, BY THE GRACE OF GOD
Happily, it is with joy that we, the lovers of democracy dividends, announce that His Excellency, Gov. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, has unarguably and comfortably been applying and enjoying his transformational / leadership acumen, wisdom, prowess, dexterity and in a meritorious manner too, sitting on his Governorship seat in Abia State, discharging his duties creditably focused, in the last three years and 127 days, not minding his insignificant and negligible detractors and opponents parading without nuisance value.
Progressively, we have 123 days to end the governorship campaign exercise, and subsequent re-election of our workaholic and outstanding Abia State Executive Governor.
With the announcement and His Excellency’s approval of a 36-member Labour Party Governorship Campaign Council, with himself as the Chairman; his deputy, as the Vice Chairman, and he Rt. Hon. Agwu Agwu, as the Director – General of the council, the re-election stage is set. We must increase the tempo of marketing our saleable, and unblemished product / principal, sending the message of His Excellency’s organic accomplishments in 40 months and four days in office, to the ears of the amiable and willing electorates in Abia State.
Among the litany of projects he has executed, let us remember the recently delivered gigantic world – class Prof. Nnenna Oti Bus Terminal, Umuahia; the ongoing Aba Bus Terminal (to be inaugurated in December, 2026); the acquisition of 40 electric eco- friendly commercial air-conditioned buses (more 60 expected to arrive before the end of the year. Already, over 400,000 commuters have patronised them at intra and inter state levels); the ongoing Abia Airport project in Nsulu, Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area; the training of over 3,000 youths on digital and leadership skills (at TechRise and Abia State Leadership Academy); the payment of accumulated gratuities to our retirees, and regular payment of pensions and Abia workers at least by the 28th of every month, among numerous others.
He has also executed not less than 490 roads, measuring about 1,000 kilometers, across the state in 40 months. A huge feat no previous leader achieved in Abia, candidly.
Due to the good works of Gov. Otti, the British Deputy High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr. Jonny Baxter, was on a two- day official visit to Abia (September 16 & 17, 2026) where partnership deals were sealed between the British Government and Abia State Government).
Abia is once again, on the map as His Excellency just generously hosted Igbo Day in Umuahia (September 29, 2026). Preliminary events had started on Monday, September 28, 2026 with projects visitation by those in attendance. Ohanaeze Ndigbo World – wide, all the five South East Governors, and distinguished and illustrious sons and daughters of Igbo extraction (home and abroad) converged on a conviavial atmosphere, for a successful event.
His Excellency has just unearthed that since Aba and Umuahia cities had been intervened and recovered, developmental activities would be shifted to the hinterlands across the 184 wards in 17 LGAs of the state.
In the first or second week of next month, His Excellency will flag -off the distribution of about 3 million Insecticide Treated Nets (ITN), to enable Abians and residents sleep inside it to avoid anopheles’ mosquito bites that cause malaria. Every household will be entitled to have it. He cares for our health.
We know that his word is his bond, as tested.
Abia is soaring under the watch of Gov. Otti. It is God doing it for us.
Let us not forget an lgbo saying: Mmadu oga egbu agu ole tupu apkoya Ogbuagu , meaning, how many lions will one kill before he is called or conferred with the title, a lion killer?
Please let this message go both viral and heterogeneous to every household.

ABOUT ABIA STATE
Abia, one of the 36 states in Nigeria, meaning the various blocs of Aba, Bende, Isiukwuato, and Afikpo (Afikpo is in Ebonyi State, now), was created in August 27, 1991, by the erstwhile military President of Nigeria, Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (rtd), GCFR, fondly called IBB by his admirers, with its capital in Umuahia, designating Aba as a commercial hub / nerve centre. It was created alongside with Enugu, Delta, Kogi, Taraba, Kebi, Jigawa, Yobe and Osun States.
In the Southeast, Abia shares boundaries with Imo, Enugu, Ebonyi and Anambra State, while in the South South flank, she shares boundaries with Rivers, Cross River and Akwa Ibom States.
Today, the state has 184 political wards, three senatorial districts (Abia South, Abia Central and Abia North); eight Federal Constituencies, 24 State Constituencies and 17 Local Government Areas.
Since the creation, the state has been ruled by five Military Administrators and five Civilian Governors, a total of 10. Those who have governed the state in the following succession are then Group Captain Frank Ajobena (August 28, 1991); the military ushered in civilian administration, leading to the election of Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu (January 1992); the military also, took over again, and appointed Col Ike Nwosu ((1993); Navy Captain Temi Ejoor (September 1994); Col. Moses Fasoya (August 1996); and Col. Anthony Obi, who eventually handed over to another civilian, after an election, Sen Orji Uzor Kalu in 1999( he governed for eight years). Sen Theodore A. Orji took over from Kalu in 2007, and served for eight years. He handed over to Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu in 2015. After eight years in power, the incumbent, Gov. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, took over in May 29, 2023.
The state has moved from the yesteryears of cankerworm, suffering years of heavy infrastructural deficit and policy summersaults, to the present glorious and liberated era under the watch of His Excellency, Gov Alex Chioma Otti, OFR.
The legion of gigantic infrastructural revolution recorded under the Otti Administration are the construction / reconstruction of about 490 roads (measuring about 1,000 kilometers) spread in the nooks and crannies of the state, including the construction of the over 5km Port Harcourt Road in Aba; the reconstruction of the popular Omenuko Bridge; the reconstruction of Umuahia- Uzuakoli- Abiriba -Ohafia Road; the reconstruction of the Abam- Ndiokereke – Arochukwu Road; the expansion of the Aguiyi – Ironsi Boulevard to Onuimo; reconstruction, retrofitting, equipping and functionalisation of Primary healthcare centres, numbering about 277; building and equipping some General and Specialist Hospitals; construction (ongoing) of the Abia Airport, in Nsulu, Isiala Ngwa North LGA; construction of the expansive modern Prof. Nnenna Otti Bus Terminal, Umuahia; while that of Aba will be commissioned in December 2026. Workers and Pensioners receive their salaries and pensions, respectively, on or before the 28th of the month, among numerous projects ongoing.
