WORKS MINISTER UMAHI JOINS GOV. OTTI ON ROAD INSPECTION IN ABA, COMMENDS HIM FOR THE SPEED AND QUALITY OF WORK DONE.
Nigeria’s Minister of works, Sen. (Engr.) Dave Nwaeze Umahi has commended the Governor of Abia State Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, for the quality of work done on some road projects in Aba the Commercial nerve center of the State and the speed at which the works are progressing.
Sen. Umahi gave the commendation on Sunday July 21st, when he joined Governor Otti to inspect the ongoing reconstruction of Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway being done by the Federal Government, and the highly strategic Port Harcourt Road, Omuma Road, Obiohia Road and Ohanku Road, all in Aba.
Addressing newsmen during the inspection, Sen. Umahi said, “First is to commend the President for this project, it is part of the priority project. You know we have so many projects, but the interest that the Governor of Abia State has shown; he has met with the President several times. He put us on our toes, that’s why we prioritize the project and it’s quite very commendable”.
“And I have also witnessed the roads, incidentally I was told that it is a federal road – the famous Port Harcourt Road. I want to say that I watched the social media and Abia Broke record when Julius Berger was offloading their equipment”.
“I was here in Aba as a young Engineer. I was the project engineer to Ndiegoro flood control. Unfortunately, I have been coming to Aba and nothing much had changed. But this time around, with my brother, my cousin, I still have quite a number of properties here in Abia State, so he is also my Governor”.
“I’m so, so excited. I am an infrastructure person. I am a result-oriented person. We have inspected a lot of projects. I was so enthused that Omuma Road is not only being reconstructed, but it’s being dualized. Nobody believed that Port-Harcourt Road could contain 3 lanes – a carriage way, 6 altogether and the quality of the work”.
“I also went to Omuma Road, it’s the same thing, we’ve inspected about four major roads. The SSA to the President sent me a text that he has never seen this quality of infrastructure, I was even jealous as if we are not doing a good job at the Expressway. So, I’m so excited”.
Talking about Ohanku and Obohia Roads, the Minister said, “And this particular roads, Ohanku and Obohia roads that are presently being targeted alongside other roads, used to be a nightmare. And, i used to see on the social media, the excitement of the residents. That’s all we need as leaders. When you are committed, doing what the people wants, God will also be committed to also do your own. Your Children are going to be blessed by God”.
“So, I want to say that Abia People should not be angry because in God’s time he makes all things beautiful. So this is your time, this is God’s time for Abia”.
Sen. Umahi said that they have continued to ask where the Governor is getting all the money that he is using to do all the works that he is doing.
Engr. Umahi commended the Governor for the choice of those working with him, saying that they just had the Nigerian Council of works last week and the Abia Commissioner of works was singled out for understanding the work, for his consistency, integrity and honesty.
“I commend you, Your Excellency. Incidentally, you are a man of few words but full of action. We have seen that it is not all about the party but the occupant of that position and so Otti is working, Otti is a gift to Abia people and Nigerians”, Sen. Umahi declared.
Sen. Umahi said that when some of the roads are completed, the President will come to commission them.
Addressing a crowd of Jubilant supporters, Governor Otti disclosed that the contractor has assured him that Ohanku road will be ready in six months time, he thanked the people for their supports.
The lawmaker representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North & South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Sir Obi Aguocha also joined in the inspection with other Government officials.

Harrison Gwamnishu’s Lawyer Gives An Account Of What The Activist Did With The Ransom Given To Him By Family Of Abducted Couple
Harrison Gwamnishu’s lawyer has given an account on what transpired between the activist and the N5.4 million deduction from the N20 million ransom family members of abducted Edo couple raised for their release.
There has been a controversy over the money Harrison delivered to the kidnappers. The family claimed they handed N20 million to Harrison to pay the ransom for the release of the abducted couple but upn handing the money to the kidnappers, the assailants discovered some monies were missing from the ransom and decided to hold on to the husband and then released the pregnant wife. Harrison has since denied any wrongdoing, insisting he has a modus operandi to handle abductors.
His lawyer has come out to give an account of what transpired between the ransom money and the activist. Read below
‘’I just got off the phone with Harrison Gwamnishu’s Lawyer. A lot has been said and done in real life investigation. Now, HARRISON’s CONFESSION
That his modus operandi is to get a prototype look alike cash where he inserts the chip for tracking as our cash is too light to carry the chip.
So before ransom is paid they remove a huge part of the money and replace it with the prototype money because the chip can only sit well on the fake money. The removed money will be given back to the family after a successful operation.
That he did this in the presence of the family member who was in the room with him. Now, the family member was called to answer and he claimed that Harrison was backing him and so he didn’t see what he was doing…
Hmmm na so Harrison back thick to occupy and cover all the space that you couldn’t see abi? Na God go judge you.
When he entered the bush at midnight to deliver the ransom the bandits were all wearing mask despite the fact that eveywhere was very dark they were pointing guns and touchlights at him and other victims family who also entered the bush with him to pay ransom for the release of their loved ones. There are other kidnapped victims who are in the custody of the bandits.
After he gave them the ransom only the Pregnant Woman was released to him and the man was begging for forgiveness from his younger brother according to him he was saying that his brother should forgive him. Remember that this couple were kindnapped from their home…. Could it be an insider job???
It was this same brother that first raise the alarm that the money was not complete. 1+1=
After the operation they went to the police station in Auchi to give report. Harrison when confronted about the money hesitated to tell them about his modus operandi, but when the family started threatening him, he told them and the police how he operates and he was asked to bring the money… He went to his hotel room took the money he kept aside and handed it over to the police in Auchi, Edo State that same day before leaving the town.
Harrison begged that none of this should enter social media until after the man had been released but shockingly, the family went on social media and the dragging started. They claimed he was on the run and his car was seized by the police.
Harrison then made a rebuttal to state that no money was taken (he didn’t go into details), his car was not seized by the police but rather he left his car there for safety as the people were already threatening him and he didn’t want them to trail him and injure him on his way home.
Harrison went on his own to SCID EDO COMMAND at Benin city for further investigation and the police there brought out the money and made him act like he was returning it so they can snap him and which they did
A Money he had returned in Auchi voluntarily suddenly became a tool of amusement for them.
After that, they prepared a search warrant claiming that they searched his hotel room at Auchi and recovered the money and were forcing him to sign the warrant and he refused. Now after 48 hours of the hand over they want him to sign a warrant that I was them that recovered the money. At that point his Lawyer vehemently refused him signing that warrant and he was locked up in the police cell.
The 14 days remained that is flying on social media by propagandist NEVER HAPPENED.
Harrison inserted a chip inside a prototype money that was mixed with the ransom paid for the release of the pregnant woman and according to him, the chip is still very active cos from his system he can still see where the kidnappers are and he is willing to assist the police track the bandits down and release the Man.
But instead of talking about how to go into the bush and face the bandits, they are all focused on Harrison. The #5.4m is with the police so why can’t the police or the family of the man go into the bush to rescue the man???
On my own i will advise Harrison to not enter that bush again. He should allow the police do their work.
I understand the bad blood between him and some powers that be and competitors in the game and thats why the whole thing is looking somehow and he is being judged by his past ugly shortcomings.
However, person no dey bad finish and so i will hang on to the one good Harrison has done in his life and until a court of competent jurisdiction finds him guilty… i will not throw him under the bus.
It’s very shameful that a private citizen is the one who interfaces with bandits while the police sits in their office. The family be playing with their brother’s life.
NB: This is a first hand account of what i gathered from Harrison’s lawyer this Beautiful Saturday morning. Thank You

Lady Nearly Plunged To Her Death From 10th Floor Window While Escaping From Lover’s Wife (Video)
A woman in China was captured on video clinging to the exterior of a high-rise building as she attempted to avoid being caught by her lover’s wife—a dramatic scene that has since gone viral online.
Residents in Guangdong province watched in disbelief as the woman dangled from a tenth floor balcony, appearing at moments to lose her grip.
Footage shows a shirtless man speaking to her through a window before retreating inside. Holding her phone, she begins lowering herself toward the floor below, using drainpipes and narrow ledges to steady herself.
The video shows her sliding down a water pipe and knocking urgently on a neighbour’s window. The occupant eventually opens up and pulls her to safety.
Local reports say a married man pushed his mistress out onto the balcony in a panic when his wife unexpectedly returned home, forcing her to attempt the perilous escape. The recording spread rapidly across Chinese social media, with many users saying the pair had been left “socially dead” by the public exposure and would face deep embarrassment.
Commenters also warned that climbing the exterior of a high rise posed extreme risks and could easily have ended in a fatal fall.
The incident comes shortly after a separate tragedy in the UK, where twenty nine year old Bartosz Urbaniak died after falling from a balcony at a holiday park event in Skegness.
Witnesses said he attempted to climb between balconies before losing his footing. A trainee nurse at the scene administered CPR, and he was flown to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham, but he died two days later from severe head injuries.

The kick-off of the Imo Economic Summit of December 2025 marked a historic moment as global political and business leaders converged on Owerri to demonstrate unprecedented support for Governor Hope Uzodimma’s ambitious plan to unlock Imo State’s economic future. It was the first summit of such scale since the State’s creation, signalling the beginning of a transformative journey.
World leaders, leading economists, global investors, and high-ranking government representatives were in attendance, showcasing the event’s international significance. Their presence reaffirmed the global community’s interest in partnering with Imo State as it strategically positions itself for accelerated development.
Among the distinguished guests were President Joseph Boakai of Liberia, President Amina Akim of Mauritius, Prime Minister Americo Ramos of São Tomé and Príncipe, former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, and former UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon. Each brought with them perspectives shaped by decades of leadership in global development.
Representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, delivered a powerful message of solidarity from the Federal Government. He praised the vision of the summit and reiterated the President’s unwavering support for Imo’s economic reawakening.
President Tinubu, through his representative, emphasized that partnership between subnational governments and the federal structure is vital to sustaining national growth. He highlighted that the administration is committed to helping states implement reforms that expand business opportunities, strengthen infrastructure, and create jobs.
He expressed confidence that the summit would serve as a launchpad for unlocking the economic ecosystem of Imo State, urging local and international investors to seize the abundant opportunities created by recent national reforms and the enabling environment already visible in the State.
In their keynote presentations, the leaders of Liberia, Mauritius, and São Tomé and Príncipe underscored Africa’s rising profile in global economics. They noted that Nigeria—particularly states like Imo with an energetic youth population—is positioned to lead the continent’s next wave of advancement.
President Amina Akim of Mauritius highlighted renewable energy as a frontier sector and pledged collaboration with Imo State to expand its clean energy initiatives. She described Imo as a willing and capable partner in Africa’s green energy expansion.
President Joseph Boakai of Liberia emphasized the role of innovation in driving transformational growth. He stressed that technological adoption can reposition Imo as a regional economic force and urged African leaders to prioritise development-focused governance.
President Boakai noted shared similarities between Imo and Liberia, praising both societies for their resilience and commitment to progress. He encouraged deeper regional cooperation to strengthen democratic governance and inclusive development.
Boakai also celebrated Liberia’s recent election to a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council, stating that such achievements reflect broader African progress—a progress he believes Imo State is prepared to actively contribute to through visionary leadership.
Welcoming the global audience, Governor Uzodimma described the summit as a turning point in Imo’s economic journey. He declared that Imo has transitioned from a rising State to a fully risen one, ready to compete with major investment destinations across Africa.
The Governor introduced a new definition of IMO: Investment Meets Opportunities, underscoring the State’s strategic location, entrepreneurial population, and expanding infrastructure as key pillars for sustained growth.
Uzodimma applauded President Tinubu’s nationwide policy reforms, stating they have created the right conditions for investors to thrive. He emphasized that Imo’s $1 trillion economy aspiration is fully aligned with the Federal Government’s economic renewal agenda.
He highlighted Imo’s competitive advantages, including fertile agricultural belts, a rapidly expanding digital ecosystem, and its status as home to the largest proven gas reserves in West Africa—assets he said investors can immediately leverage.
Addressing infrastructure, the Governor announced that Imo has successfully constructed over 120 major roads linking communities, industrial zones, and neighbouring states. He said the improved connectivity is already stimulating commerce and reducing travel time.
A major announcement was the imminent commencement of the Light Up Imo Project, which aims to deliver 24-hour electricity to power industries, tech hubs, and commercial districts. Uzodimma described constant electricity as the backbone of the State’s economic plan.
On land reforms, the Governor revealed that the establishment of the Imo Land Information Centre has eliminated bottlenecks and transformed land administration into a modern, transparent, and technology-driven system, thereby boosting investor confidence.
He further identified other transformative initiatives such as dredging the Orashi River to the Atlantic to unlock maritime trade, establishing Imo as Nigeria’s digital innovation centre, and promoting OKOBI—One Kindred, One Business Initiative—to stimulate grassroots enterprise development.
Concluding his address, Governor Uzodimma extended an open invitation to global investors to become active participants in Imo’s economic rebirth. He reaffirmed that Imo is not merely ready for investment—it is structured, positioned, and determined to become one of Africa’s most dynamic economic destinations.
The Imo Economic Summit continued to attract powerful endorsements as distinguished speakers delivered compelling addresses in support of Governor Hope Uzodimma’s economic blueprint. Nigeria’s Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, praised the Governor’s strategic foresight, particularly his bold investment in an independent power project designed to deliver uninterrupted electricity across the State. Describing the initiative as a “real game changer,” Edun asserted that reliable power will unlock industrial growth, enhance productivity, and position Imo as one of Nigeria’s most competitive economic hubs. He further noted that Nigeria’s economy is on a progressive upward trajectory, with expanding fiscal capacity and a target of 7 percent annual growth. To accelerate this national ambition, he encouraged deeper collaboration among local, state, and federal institutions to build a unified pathway to prosperity.
Adding a global perspective, former United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon emphasized Africa’s pivotal role in shaping global climate solutions. He highlighted that the continent possesses immense natural advantages capable of transforming global environmental efforts. Ban Ki-moon urged stronger international cooperation, stressing that climate challenges require shared responsibility and the spirit of global citizenship. By advocating environmental stewardship and sustainability, he encouraged African nations—including Imo State—to fully embrace innovation, resilience, and partnerships as key tools for combating climate threats and advancing long-term development.
Former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson also addressed the gathering, expressing admiration for Governor Uzodimma’s forward-looking vision for an economic renaissance. Johnson hailed Nigeria as one of the world’s most promising investment frontiers, fueled by its youthful population, rich natural resources, and expanding digital economy. He described the country as a future global powerhouse and commended Imo State for positioning itself strategically to benefit from Nigeria’s immense potential.
In another resounding endorsement, former President of the Africa Export-Import Bank, Prof. Benedict Oramah, reaffirmed Afreximbank’s commitment to supporting major economic projects in Imo. He highlighted the transformational value of the Orashi River dredging project, which aims to open new maritime trade corridors and strengthen Imo’s logistical capacity. Prof. Oramah also referenced the establishment of a state-of-the-art petrochemical testing facility near the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport—an investment expected to elevate Imo’s role in global petrochemical exports and attract high-value industries.
The President of Dangote Group, Africa’s foremost industrialist Alhaji Aliko Dangote, added his voice by commending President Tinubu for implementing reforms that strengthen national economic stability. Dangote encouraged entrepreneurs to invest courageously in Nigeria, noting that the nation’s vast natural resources and entrepreneurial talent remain unmatched. He assured Governor Uzodimma that the Dangote Group is willing and ready to partner with the Imo State Government in any developmental area deemed appropriate, reinforcing investor confidence in the State’s economic direction.
The summit hall was filled with an impressive array of global and local leaders—including diplomats, multinational executives, development partners, top financiers, and influential business figures such as Dr. ABC Ojiakor, Ogbuagu Ernest Nwapa, Mr. Abdulrasak Isaiah of Walmart, and Mr. Uzoma Dozie of Sparkle Microfinance Bank. Traditional rulers, religious leaders, captains of industry, and top-tier investors also graced the event, validating the summit’s stature as a global investment magnet.
In a strong show of political solidarity, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Yetaweh Nantewah, along with former National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, joined several serving governors and political stakeholders at the summit. Members of the Federal Executive Council, federal and state legislators, and senior officials of the Imo State Executive Council also attended in full strength, reflecting the broad national support behind Imo State’s transformative agenda under Governor Uzodimma’s leadership.
