Hoodlums Burn Down RCCG Zonal Headquarter

Hoodlums have set ablaze the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Champion Zonal Headquarters, along Federal College of Education Road in Kontagora, Niger State, leaving a trail of destruction that echoed through the community this weekend.Reports from Daily Trust indicate that valuables were ruthlessly looted amid the chaos, deepening the shock and sadness felt by the congregation.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Print Media, Aisha Wakaso, Governor Mohammed Bago passionately condemned the heinous act, describing it as a blatant assault on the harmony and unity that bind the people of Niger State.

“We unequivocally condemn this act of violence and assure our Christian brothers and sisters, as well as all citizens of Niger State, that their safety, security, and freedom of worship are our utmost priorities,” Bago asserted. “Our diversity and the peaceful coexistence of various religious and ethnic groups are our greatest strengths. We will not stand idly by while such senseless acts of violence threaten our way of life.The Governor has requested that all relevant security agencies conduct an immediate and complete inquiry into this occurrence. We are convinced that the perpetrators of this horrible arson will be quickly discovered and prosecuted. The administration will see that those involved are punished to the fullest extent of the law.

We urge the people of Kontagora and Niger State to be calm and refrain from revenge or violence. Let us continue to collaborate to preserve the peace and togetherness that define our magnificent nation.

The government will continue to take all necessary precautions to protect all houses of worship and prevent such a regrettable occurrence from occurring again”, Bago said.

The Governor also encouraged citizens to remain vigilant, reporting any suspicious activities to the authorities. “Together, we can prevent further atrocities and sustain the tranquility we all seek.

During this dark time, we stand in solidarity with the members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God and the entire Christian community,” he concluded.

EID-EL-FITR: IGP DISU FELICITATES MUSLIM FAITHFUL, ORDERS NATIONWIDE DEPLOYMENT OF TACTICAL ASSETS

​The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, has extended warm felicitations to the Muslim faithful across Nigeria on the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan and the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr.

​In furtherance of his commitment to ensuring a safe and secure environment during the festive period, the Inspector-General has directed Commissioners of Police and Tactical Commanders across all states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory to implement robust security arrangements.
​Operational measures include:
​Strategic deployment of tactical teams and intelligence operatives.

​Deployment of the Special Intervention Squad and conventional police personnel to Eid prayer grounds and critical infrastructure.
​Increased presence at highways, motor parks, recreational centers, and other public spaces to ensure peaceful, hitch-free celebrations.

​The IGP has also ordered heightened visibility policing, coordinated patrols, enhanced surveillance operations, and intelligence-led stop-and-search duties. These actions are aimed at proactively deterring criminal activities and ensuring a swift response to any emerging threats.

​IGP Disu calls on members of the public to remain vigilant, cooperate with law enforcement agencies, and promptly report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through the following emergency lines:
