PASSES VOTE OF IMPLICIT CONFIDENCE FOR HIS POLITICAL MATURITY AND CAPACITY TO HANDLE CHALLENGES
Impressed by his political maturity and capacity to handle challenges, the Imo State House Of Assembly has passed vote of implicit confidence in the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, and further congratulated him on his emergence as Secretary of the Presidential Campaign Council, PCC.
This was the outcome of Plenary activity on Wednesday, 21/10/2026.
Moving the Motion, the Deputy Leader of the House and Member Representing Isiala Mbano State Constituency, Hon Sam Ikechukwu Osuji, explained that the selfless sacrifice of the Governor in repositioning the Ruling Party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Imo State, Southeast and in the country, first as Governor of Imo State, secondly as Chairman, Southeast Governors Forum, Thirdly as Chairman of Progressive Governors’ Forum, and fourthly as Secretary of the Presidential Campaign Council, PCC, of the reelection of Mr President has made him a Golden Fish that is continuously sought after.
The lawmaker further explained that the numerous contributions of Governor Uzodimma to the socioeconomic and political development and growth of the state have so positioned Imo State that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has absolute confidence in the Political Capacity and Operations of the Governor, as they both have mutual trust and clear political alignment regarding governance and the 2027 Presidential reelection bid. This, according to Hon Sam Osuji, has attracted applause for the Governor, while on the other hand, some elements have become jittery and indeed uncomfortable with the political growth and acceptance of Governor Uzodimma, who has emerged as the New Face Of Leadership from the southeast.
In his words, Hon Sam Osuji said, *”Governor Hope Uzodimma had few months ago, emerged as the Senatorial Candidate of the Ruling Party, APC, for Orlu Zone in the forthcoming 2027 election, and the entire Stakeholders and Constituents in Orlu Zone are in support of him returning to the Senate in 2027, since no Law, Constitution of the country and Constitution of the Ruling Party has been broken”.*
While beckoning on his Honourable Colleagues to lend their voices in support of the Motion, Hon Sam Osuji, who is also the House Committee Chairman On Transport, further stated that those jittery and afraid of Governor Hope Uzodimma returning to the Senate are doubtful of their own capacity and ability to pilot the leadership of the current 10th Senate, otherwise, why does the possible emergence of the Governor as a Senator in 2027 be a source of worrying concern to them?
