At least 51 people have been killed while many others were injured in an attack by gunmen on Zike Kimakpa community in Kwall District of Irigwe Chiefdom, Bassa local government area of Plateau State.

He added that the gunmen invaded the area and started shooting sporadically early Monday.

Auta added that bodies of 45 victims of the attacks have been recovered so far.

While also confirming the attack, a Kwall community leader, Wakili Tongwe, said the gunmen invaded the village in the early hours of Monday shooting sporadically while vigilantes were on patrol in another community

Tongwe told Channels Television that at least thirty-six people were shot dead before the gunmen were repelled by security operatives.

He added that some of those who sustained injuries during the sporadic shooting by the gunmen later died in the hospital.

Temi Otedola, the daughter of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, and singer Mr Eazi, have released pictures of their wedding ceremony .

The couple announced engagement in April 2022 and tied the knot in 2025.

According to reports, Temi and Mr Eazi hosted not one, not two, but three weddings across three countries.

Their first ceremony was a civil wedding held in Monaco on May 9, which coincided with Mr Eazi’s late mother’s birthday.

This was followed by a traditional Yoruba wedding ceremony at the Otedola family home in Dubai, where they celebrated their Nigerian heritage with traditional food, music, and attire.

The final ceremony was a white wedding held in Iceland in August, where the couple exchanged vows in a beautiful church ceremony.

The couple’s wedding celebrations were a blend of Nigerian culture and international flair, reflecting their unique love story.

Mr Eazi has spoken about how the weddings have inspired him, saying he wants to create more love songs, particularly stripped-back acoustic tracks that he can perform live at future Nigerian weddings.

The couple’s romance began in 2017, and after five years of dating, Mr Eazi proposed to Temi in April 2022.

Temi recently took to social media to announce her new surname, sharing pictures of the wedding with the caption “Mr and Mrs Ajibade.”

The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has once again urged Nigerian leaders to embrace justice, reduce citizens’ hardship and strengthen unity for lasting prosperity in the country .

CAN President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, made this appeal on Friday while felicitating with Muslims across the country on the celebration of Eid-ul-Maulud.

Ekwutosblog reports that Eid-ul-Maulud is used to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad.

Archbishop Okoh stated that the values embodied by the Prophet were essential virtues that transcend religious boundaries.

“Eid-ul-Maulud offers Nigerians a moment of reflection on the values of humility, compassion, justice and devotion to God which the Prophet exemplified.

“The values transcend religious boundaries and point us towards building a society anchored on peace, fairness and mutual respect,” Okoh said.

The cleric, however, warned that Nigeria was at a turning point, urging leaders to show greater accountability and compassion in addressing the nation’s challenges.

Italian fashion legend Giorgio Armani, king of a high-end lifestyle empire, has died at the age of 91 “surrounded by his loved ones”, his company said Thursday.

“With infinite sorrow, the Armani Group announces the passing of its creator, founder, and tireless driving force: Giorgio Armani,” it said in a statement.
The best known contemporary designer, Armani opened his fashion house in Milan in 1975, quickly rising to the top of the industry and going on to dress the stars.

His funeral will be private, the group said, but well-wishers can pay respects beforehand at a funeral chamber open on Saturday and Sunday in Milan.

“Il Signor Armani, as he was always respectfully and admiringly called by employees and collaborators, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones,” the company said.
“Indefatigable to the end, he worked until his final days, dedicating himself to the company, the collections, and the many ongoing and future projects,” the company said.

Armani had cancelled his menswear show in Milan this year due to health reasons. He also missed the Paris Armani Prive show on doctors’ orders.
“In 20 years of Armani Prive, it’s the first time I’m not in Paris,” he said in a statement sent to AFP in July.

“My doctors advised more rest, even though I felt ready.”
He added that he had “followed and overseen every aspect of the show remotely”, stressing: “I approved and signed off on everything you will see.”

The Italian icon was credited with inventing red-carpet fashion, but also moved into a younger and less expensive range through Emporio Armani, and opened luxury hotels.
His death came just weeks ahead of celebrations marking 50 years of his eponymous label.

Italy’s Culture Minister Alessandro Giuli led the tributes, paying homage to “a leading figure in Italian culture, who was able to transform elegance into a universal language”.
“His understated and innovative style redefined the relationship between fashion, cinema, and society, leaving an indelible mark on contemporary culture,” he said.
“He was not only a master of fashion, but also a recognised ambassador of Italian identity around the world.”
