Operatives of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, Amotekun, have rescued five victims abducted in the state few days ago.

The victims were rescued without the payment of the N150 million ransom demanded by their abductors.

The commander of Amotekun in the state, Adetunji Adeleye, revealed that four of the victims were kidnapped along Ore-Ijebu Ode/Lagos expressway.

Adeleye further stressed that one other victim was rescued around Ifon forest five days after he was abducted at his Upemen residence on Owo-Ikare road.

The Amotekun boss, who disclosed that armed kidnappers had demanded ransom from the families of the victims before Amotekun foiled the operations, disclosed that Amotekun rangers had been deployed into all the major forests and locations in the state to curb criminalities.

He disclosed that over 12 armed robbery and kidnapping cases had been foiled by officials of Amotekun in the state, particularly Ondo-Ogun states boundary.

One of the rescued victims, Ayo Adeyeye, who narrated the traumatic and harrowing experience while in captivity, revealed that the kidnappers threatened to terminate his life and others if the demand for the ransom were not met.

“I was returning home when they stopped us but my brother ran away before I could stop the motorcycle. They dragged me with them and we trekked all through the night till the following morning.”
