Insecurity: Arewa group reacts to killing of bandit kingpin Kachalla, knocks Buhari
The Arewa Joint Action Movement, AJAM, has taken a dig at the immediate past government of Muhammadu Buhari on issues of insecurity in the North.
The group believes that the change in administration in 2023 marked a pivotal moment in the fight against insecurity in the region, adding that there is now hope that peace could return.
The group also hailed the dedication of Nigeria’s service men and women in tackling criminals in the northern part of the country.
It noted that the elimination of notorious bandit kingpin, Kachalla Dogo Isah and 44 other terrorists in Zamfara State during coordinated air and ground assaults is on its own a great success.
A statement issued by AJAM convener, Lauretta Bako, read, “The introduction of high-tech combat enablers has been pivotal in enhancing the operational effectiveness of Nigeria’s security forces.
“The killing of high-profile criminals, including gun runners and bandit leaders, has not only dismantled key networks of violence but has also sent a strong message to remaining criminal elements that the state is resolute in its fight against insecurity.
“Moreover, the expansion of Operation WHIRL STROKE to include parts of Taraba State has further solidified the security framework in the region.
“The establishment of the National Mission Force Brigade in Samaru Kataf has also played a crucial role in addressing security challenges in Southern Kaduna, leading to improved socio-economic conditions in the area.
“Highways that were once considered perilous, such as the Kaduna-Abuja route, are now safer for commuters, facilitating trade and travel.
“Markets in areas like Giwa, Birnin Gwari, and Jibia are experiencing a resurgence, as local leaders and the general public attest to the improved security climate.
“Furthermore, the operational achievements in the North West and North Central Zones are not just limited to high-profile arrests and neutralizations; they also include the discovery and dismantling of criminal infrastructures.
“The change in administration in 2013 marked a pivotal moment in our fight against insecurity.”
