Strict enforcement of tinted glass permit in Adamawa begins Oct 2 – Police

Adamawa State Command of the Nigeria Police says it will begin strict enforcement of the law regulating use of tinted glasses next month, October 2.
The command, reminding members of the public that the law on tinted glass permits remains in force under the Motor Vehicles (Prohibition of Tinted Glass) Act, Road traffic Act, 2004 and other related regulations, urged the public to take note.
The command, in a statement obtained by Ekwutosblog Tuesday morning, urged all vehicle owners using factory-fitted or aftermarket tinted glasses for security or medical reasons to obtain the appropriate permit, as failure to comply attracts penalties as stipulated by law.
“Accordingly, the Command will commence strict enforcement of this regulation with effect from 2nd October, 2025,” the command said in the statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje.
Nguroje advised tinted glass owners to obtain or update their permits before the enforcement date to avoid sanctions.
He explained that the planned enforcement is informed by prevailing security concerns.
