Friendly: Russia goalkeeper admits error for goal against Super Eagles

Russia goalkeeper, Matvey Safonov is ready to move on from his error in the side’s stalemate against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

The Paris Saint-Germain’s shot stopper was at fault for the goal conceded by Valery Karpin’s side in the 1-1 draw with Nigeria at the Luzhniki Stadium, Moscow on Friday night.

Safanov mistakenly passed the ball to substitute Tolu Arokodare, who slotted home for Nigeria’s equalising goal in the 71st minute.

The 26-year-old accepted responsibility for his team’s failure to win the game.

“Yes, in principle, everything is clear there. Just a regular pass that probably shouldn’t have been done. I think that we shouldn’t dwell too much on it or look for an excuse. It was a mistake from me,” he told Match TV.

Valery Karpin’s side will now shift attention to their next friendly against Belarus in Minsk next week Tuesday.

Arsenal are ready to make one final high-profile signing after securing deals for Cristhian Mosquera, Viktor Gyokeres, and Noni Madueke.

Arsenal’s summer spending is set to surpass the £200m mark, but their manager Mikel Arteta isn’t finished yet.

The Gunners have already confirmed the signings of Christian Norgaard, Martin Zubimendi, and Kepa Arrizabalaga.

But the Premier League North London club are set to announce three more deals this week, with Madueke, Mosquera, and Gyokeres set to join Arteta’s side.

However, according to The Athletic, Arsenal could yet make one more X-Factor signing, with Real Madrid’s Rodrygo and Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze both on their radar.

Meanwhile, in order to finance either of those deals, it is likely that some of the players will need to leave the Emirates Stadium in order to raise funds.

The final paperwork is now being worked on regarding Napoli striker Victor Osimhen’s permanent transfer move to Galatasaray.

This was disclosed by Galatasaray reporter Burhan Can Terzi while providing information about Galatasaray’s move for Osimhen.

According to him, Napoli have accepted Galatasaray’s written offer, adding that the Turkish giants will place the €40 million down payment on Napoli’s table within six days.

“I can say that the probability of Osimhen coming is 90%. There is no need to despair,” Can Terzi said (via habersarikirmizi).

“Galatasaray requested the official text from Napoli regarding the guarantee.

“There’s been a lot of traffic going on at the club today. I even know some of Galatasaray’s guests from Italy have been coming and going.

“The final paperwork is now being worked on. After Napoli accepts Galatasaray’s written offer, I believe Galatasaray will place the €40 million down payment on Napoli’s table within 5-6 days.

Fenerbahce manager, Jose Mourinho, is ready to wait on Marcus Rashford despite the Manchester United forward preferring a move to Barcelona.

According to Turkish outlet Hurriyet, Mourinho is keen on a reunion with Rashford.

However, the 27-year-old’s £40million price tag might prove to be the stumbling block.

Despite that, Fenerbahce will “patiently wait until August” to try to get a better deal.

Rashford spent half of last season on loan at Aston Villa, but is expected to leave United on a permanent basis this summer.

The England international has been lef out of the Red Devils’ preseason squad by manager Ruben Amorim.

Rashford played under Mourinho at United between 2016-2018. During that period, he scored 28 goals and provided 20 assists in 125 appearances.
