EPL: Ian Wright names player to replace injured Saka in Arsenal’s XI

on

Arsenal legend, Ian Wright, has advised the club’s boss, Mikel Arteta, to replace injured Bukayo Saka with new signing, Noni Madueke when the Gunners face Liverpool.

Saka was injured during Arsenal’s 5-0 win over Liverpool on Saturday

The Gunners now maintain their 100 per cent record in their opening home match of the Premier League season.

Their new striker, Viktor Gyokeres and defender, Jurrien Timber fired in a double each while Saka made it 5-0 for the home side.

The Gunners’ captain, Martin Odegaard was the first to be pulled off with a shoulder injury and in the 53rd minute Saka went down clutching his hamstring.

Arteta told the press after the game that the England attacker had likely sustained a ‘significant’ injury.

The former Arsenal striker Wright said on Premier League Productions, “But hamstring, we’re talking four or maybe six weeks”

Wright that Madueke should switch flanks if Saka is ruled out of the Gunners’ trip to Liverpool next weekend.

“This is why the signings [are important],” he added.

“Madueke can play this side and this is why you bring in a Madueke.

“I’m not saying he’s going to play like Saka, but fill that gap. He plays on that side, that’s where he likes to play… fill that gap until Saka comes back because he’s got a chance now.”

Arsenal are now sitting top of the Premier League table with two wins from the opening two matches.
