This pain really paining, Cubana Chief Priest explains absence from Davido’s white wedding
Celebrity barman, Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has opened up about his absence from Davido’s wedding in Miami, Florida, citing long-standing US visa challenges.
In an Instagram post on Saturday, Cubana Chief Priest stated that he woke up with “mixed feelings,” expressing both happiness for the couple and sadness over missing the event.
He noted that sometimes, life’s challenges serve as a reminder of human limitations, despite personal success.
Sharing a video from Davio’s traditional wedding held in Lagos in 2024, the entrepreneur wrote, “Woke up this morning with mixed feelings. I’m happy, and I’m still sad at the same time.
“Sometimes, God has a way of making you understand that you are powerless regardless of all you may think you have.”
Responding to criticism over his absence from the white wedding, Cubana Chief Priest said, “I appreciate the bashing because that has given me multiple reasons and proofs to apply again.”
Addressing the U.S. Embassy in Nigeria, the entrepreneur wrote, “#usinnigeria do it for me this time. You can clearly see how disappointed and hurt the world is to see me absent at my best friend’s wedding. You need to give me access to get my fat ass into America. Well, delay is never denial — CP is still hopeful.”
Despite his absence, Cubana Chief Priest said his wife and family were present at the wedding to represent him.
He wrote, “The largest part of me, which is my family, my beautiful, elegant, expensive, eloquent and sophisticated wife #_deangels, is there to share in this luxury blissful experience. So I’m there in body and spirit.
“I’m wishing my best friend #davido and his beautiful wife #thechefchi an amazing wedlock.”
He further stated that he will reapply for a visa next week, saying, “#usinnigeria I’m in again next week. Please give me access to the greatest country in the world. This pain is really paining.”
Earlier in January, Cubana Chief Priest revealed on Channels TV’s Rubbin’ Minds that errors made on his first visa application, which was filled out by someone else when he was younger, have persisted in the US immigration system and continue to cause denials.
“I have been denied access to America. If I had a visa to enter Yankee today, it would be a dream come true,” Cubana Chief Priest said.
“Somebody filled out my form when I was much younger and was trying to get into America. Some mistakes were coming up during interviews. And I think they have it on their system. Anytime I came, it kept popping up.
“David tells me about America and the lifestyle. It is something I want to experience. I hope very soon I am going to get access to get into Yankee”, he said.
Ekwutosblog reports that celebrities and friends joined Davido and Chioma for their pre-wedding party in Miami, United States, on Saturday.

Jason Derulo vows never to be alone with female colleague over lawsuit
American singer Jason Derulo has announced that he will never again be alone in a room with a female colleague.
He said his decision stemmee from a nearly two-year sexual harassment lawsuit that has cost him millions despite being dismissed twice in other jurisdictions.
In an interview with Graham Bensinger, Derulo said, “I will never be alone in a room with a woman that I work with… ever, ever again. That case was dismissed twice. And I lost so many brand deals, relationships off of a story that was not even slightly believable. Why didn’t they post the dismissal at least? Wouldn’t that be fair?”
The interview came as aspiring singer Emaza Dilan has refiled her sexual harassment lawsuit against Derulo in New York, after similar claims were dismissed on procedural grounds in California and Nevada.
Although no court has yet ruled on the substance of the allegations, Derulo said the lingering accusations have already cost him major brand partnerships and prompted him to fundamentally change how he interacts with women in professional settings.

Person wey Soso bring make I sign I say I no wan sign because I no see the future. Time go tell – Kcee finally addresses the long-rumoured rift with Flavour (WATCH).
Nigerian singer Kcee has finally addressed the long standing rumours of a rift between himself and fellow artiste Flavour, shedding new light on the issue during an interview on Yanga FM. In his explanation, Kcee revisited the period when music executive Soso Soberekon allegedly introduced Flavour to him for a possible record deal, a proposal he said he turned down at the time. Recalling the moment in his own words, Kcee said, “…person wey Soso bring make I sign? I don dey drive Hummer, Navigator, dey ball before im from East come. I was a freaking big boy… I say I no wan sign because . I no see the future at that point. Time go tell.” He stressed that the rejection was not driven by personal animosity but by his inability at the time to foresee Flavour’s future in the industry.
The singer also referenced his earlier social media outburst in which he called out individuals he accused of acting like custodians of culture simply because he featured a similar artiste to Flavour in one of his projects. According to Kcee, he does not believe the reported tension between them stemmed from the rejected deal but rather from what he described as a superiority complex. He explained that some of his colleagues, in his view, underrate his talent largely because he does not openly brag about his achievements. “The truth is that when some people had written you off, hoping that you would be stagnant, and you work hard and get to a level they don’t expect you to reach, that was what happened,” he said.
Expanding further, Kcee insisted that his journey in the industry predates Flavour’s rise to fame, noting that he was already enjoying success and an affluent lifestyle before Flavour relocated to Lagos. He also said a lot of his colleagues underrate his talent, mostly because of his humility and because he doesn’t brag.

I’m Married But Not In My Husband’s House; I Didn’t Have The Experience Of Living Happily Ever After – Singer Shola Allyson Reveals (Video)
Sola Allyson, the popular Nigerian gospel singer, has revealed that she is not currently living with her husband.
The musician made this known in her latest interview on Oyinmomo TV.
While speaking about her love life, the 54-year-old who came into limelight with a love album ‘Eji Owuro’, revealed that she is married but not living with her husband.
Sharing her marital experience, the singer said she has never enjoyed the kind of happiness many people describe.
“I’m married, but I’m not in my husband’s house. We live separately. He in his house and I in mine.”
The interviewer asked: “You sang ‘Eji Owuro’, did you experience genuine love from your husband?
She replied, “We lied before. Those older than us didn’t inform us that it’s tough. They made us believe that so long as you both love each other, you will live happily ever after, but it’s a lie.
“That’s not the experience I have. I didn’t have the experience of living happily ever after. I did all I could to make it work.
“Marriage has been a big challenge. I hear people talk about joy in marriage, but I have never experienced it.”
