EXCLUSIVE: According to a Source, “The EFCC investigation is currently ongoing into the alleged diversion of N7.5 billion by contractors working with commandant General of the NSCDC, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, over a period of 5 days the entire amount that’s was shared to contractors account has been identified and linked to BDCs, who were invited and have been questioned. The contractors involved in the case are being called for questioning as the investigation progresses.

“The investigators discovered that payments were made to a total of 20 contractors, with a significant sum of N2 billion allocated to three major contractors who each own five companies. Each contractor received a retention fee of 5%. Letters of invitation have been sent to these contractors.

“All the contractors have been interviewed except for one woman who has been working tirelessly to avoid it. Who received over 1 billion, and all the funds were discovered to have been converted to USD.

“The contractors made a useful statement that led to the recovery of approximately N1 billion, which the Audi had given to them to avoid being invited.

“The contractors have been under pressure from the EFCC as they have stated that the operatives are so professional that there is nothing to hide, given that they have records at their fingertips.

“One of the contractors informs us that they are planning to start a protest at the NSA office to seek assistance, as they feel that he is the only senior official who can help them reach the CG. They applied for jobs as contractors, only to learn that the job was already executed on their behalf by the Director of Procurement, Victor Fayemi, and Anthony Akpan, depending on the contractor they are in touch with. They sent account numbers with individual names, which the investigators informed them are BDC.
“The contractor that is yet to come is the MD of Absolute Solutions, Cerise ltd, BNT arm who have been getting paid since the CG assume office in 2021 and have been using same BDC to exchange funds which she’s always informed that the jobs have been executed on her behalf. The BDC investigated so far include. Main one global and Double Spec Agro.

“Another contractor that received over 1 billion is Sotitrech Computers, Jikol Multipurpose, and have exchanged funds through One Al-Hikma communications and made some refunds.

“It was observed at NSCDC that these payments were meant for jobs that had already been executed, but the contractors had not been paid. If the investigators request the goods, they will be found in the stores, but the main contractors who supplied them were not paid.”

Additionally, payments for the elections were meant for the staff, but sources at the NSCDC claim that the staff were underpaid compared to staff at other sister agencies.

The EFCC wrote a letter inviting officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps for questioning.

Officers scheduled to be questioned by EFCC starting from 2 May 2024 are:

SUSPENSION: Natasha Akpoti Defeats Akpabio in Court

The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has struck out two appeals filed by the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio against the suspension of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s suspension suit at the High Court.

In a unanimous decision delivered by Justices Hamma Barka, Adebukunola Banjoko, and Okon Abang, the appellate court struck out the motions dated 20th and 25th March 2025, following a formal application to withdraw them.

The court further awarded the sum of ₦100,000 in costs to the 1st respondent, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. Additionally, the court ordered that Appeal No: CA/ABJ/PRE/ROA/CV/395M/2025 be deleted.

The Senate President had sought multiple reliefs from the appellate court, including:

1. An order enlarging the time within which he could seek leave to appeal the decision of the Federal High Court, Abuja, in Suit No: FHC/ABJ/CS/384/2025. The judgment was delivered by Honourable Justice Obiora Egwuatu on 10th March 2025.

2. An order granting leave to appeal against the High Court’s decision in the same suit.

3. An order extending the time within which the appellant could file a Notice of Appeal against the said judgment.

4. An order staying further proceedings in the matter pending the determination of his appeal.

However, with the withdrawal and subsequent striking out of the motions, the reliefs sought by the Senate President are effectively nullified at this stage.

This ruling marks a significant legal win for Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan in her ongoing legal battle surrounding her controversial suspension.

Adamawa police operatives nab 7 Shila Boys for alleged robbery

Operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command have nabbed seven youths identified as being part of notorious criminal elements called Shila Boys.

 

The suspects are alleged to have been involved in armed robbery.

The Command said Wednesday that the suspects were apprehended while they were carrying out their operation around the Federal Housing Estate in Bajabure, Girei Local Government Area.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, who made the disclosure, said the arrest of the suspects was made after distress calls to the Command on the 9th of June, 2025.

The suspects include Ja’afar Umar, 16 years old; Bulama Abba, 15; Dalha Mohammed, 16; Saidu Abba, 18; Safiyanu Yunusa, 15; Mohammed Abubakar, 15; and Abba Ibrahim, 15, all of Jambutu in Yola North LGA.

Nguroje said in a press statement that a sum of N12,350, one dagger, and two GSM phones were recovered from the suspects and treated as exhibits.

“The suspects attacked members of the public, dispossessing them of their valuables,” Nguroje stated, explaining that they had armed themselves with offensive weapons and caused fear among residents.

“The operatives, led by DPO Viniklang and his team, swiftly responded to the scene of the crime and arrested the suspects,” Nguroje said.

He added that the State Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, had directed that the relevant officers should ensure diligent investigation and prosecution of the suspects.

BREAKING: Oshiomhole Shuts Down Lagos Airport’s Zulu Terminal After Missing Flight To Abuja Due To Lateness, Leaves Passengers Stranded

Sources at the airport said the senator blocked the entrance to the terminal entirely, refusing to budge despite multiple pleas from the terminal manager.

In an arrogant display of political privilege and disregard for public inconvenience, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, the former Edo State governor and current senator for Edo North, on Wednesday forced the closure of the Zulu Terminal at the General Aviation Terminal (GAT) of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos after arriving late for his flight to Abuja.

Ekwutosblog gathered from credible sources at the airport that Oshiomhole blocked the entrance to the Zulu Terminal of the General Aviation Terminal (GAT) after arriving at the terminal well past the scheduled departure time of his flight.

 

Oshiomhole was scheduled to travel on an early morning Air Peace flight. His departure time for the flight to Abuja was 6:30 am.

Sources at the airport said the senator blocked the entrance to the terminal entirely, refusing to budge despite multiple pleas from the terminal manager.

 

According to eyewitnesses, rather than accept responsibility for his lateness, the senator blocked the terminal’s entrance, creating a gridlock that left dozens of passengers stranded and delayed.

 

Sources said the terminal manager’s repeated efforts to resolve the disruption were met with obstinate refusal by Oshiomhole, forcing the regional manager to intervene.

 

A management meeting was hurriedly convened to pacify the senator and convince him to allow normal operations to resume.

 

Witnesses described the scene as chaotic and humiliating for airline and airport staff, who were seen pleading with the senator to de-escalate the situation.

 

Air Peace, the airline scheduled to fly the senator to Abuja, refused to accommodate him, citing his late arrival and adherence to strict check-in policies.

 

“He missed the flight. That’s the simple truth. He wanted them to delay the flight for him, but Air Peace refused,” a source familiar with the incident said.

 

“Oshiomhole blocked the terminal entrance completely until the regional manager came to resolve the issue. The terminal manager made all attempts to resolve it, but Oshiomhole rebuffed everything so he could not resolve the issue,” a source said.

 

“There was a management meeting called to beg Oshiomhole. He disrupted flights by shutting down the Zulu Terminal. The situation was so tense that a management meeting was hurriedly convened to plead with the senator to step aside so that operations could resume.”

 

Domestic airlines in Lagos operate from two main terminals: Murtala Mohammed 1 (MM1), also known as the General Aviation Terminal (GAT), and Murtala Mohammed 2 (MM2).

 

The General Aviation Terminal (GAT) has two sections—Alpha Hall and Zulu Hall.

 

The Zulu Terminal, formerly known as the old Ikeja Airport before it was relocated to the GAT after a fire incident in 2000, is the primary domestic wing of the MMIA.

 

It handles flights to key destinations across Nigeria, including Abuja, Benin, Asaba, Port Harcourt, Ilorin, Enugu, Calabar, Uyo, Owerri, and Yola.

In 2023, the federal government completed a N2.2 billion expansion of the terminal under the supervision of then Aviation Minister, Hadi Sirika, increasing its capacity fourfold—from 254 to 1,024 passengers.

 

Ijeoma Blessing Nwosu-Igbo, General Manager of Public Affairs at the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), said she was unaware of the incident, noting that MM2 is a privately owned terminal.

 

“I don’t work for MM2, I work for the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria. And I am not aware of this incident unless they reported it to us. I can’t speak for MM2,” she said.

 

Efforts by SaharaReporters to contact Air Peace spokesperson, Dr. Ejike Ndiulo, on his mobile phone were unsuccessful.

Similarly, attempts to reach Mr. Olatokunbo Arewa, Regional General Manager South-West for Murtala Muhammed International Airport, also failed. Although he asked our reporter to send a text message, he did not reply to it and did not answer follow-up calls.
