Bayern Munich’s Bold Move: Vincent Kompany Appointed As New Manager

Published

Bayern Munich has named Vincent Kompany as their new head coach, officially presenting him at a press conference on Thursday.

The former Manchester City captain, who recently departed Burnley after their relegation from the Premier League, replaces Thomas Tuchel.

Despite widespread astonishment in the football community, Kompany was not taken aback by the offer.

Kompany emphasized his unwavering self-belief, stating, “I’ve always felt like I’ve worked for a top club in my mind.” He replaces Tuchel after Bayern’s failed attempts to secure Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso, Germany’s Julian Nagelsmann, and Austria’s Ralf Rangnick.

Outlining his vision for Bayern Munich, Kompany desired to instill his team’s character with traits he values deeply.

Kompany’s managerial journey began at Anderlecht, his boyhood club, before moving to Burnley in 2022. While he initially succeeded in promoting Burnley to the Premier League, his tenure ended in disappointment with their relegation.

Bayern Munich have signed Kompany on a contract until June 2027, signaling their confidence in his potential to lead the team back to glory after their first trophyless season in 12 years.

Published

on

England captain, Harry Kane, has suggested that his team lost 3-1 against Senegal in an international friendly on Tuesday because Thomas Tuchel’s side were not good enough against the visitors.

According to the Bayern Munich striker, with and without the ball things were not clicking for the Three Lions during the encounter at City Ground.

Kane gave England the lead in the seven minutes, but three goals from Ismaila Sarr, Habib Diarra, and Cheikh Sabaly gave the West African giants the victory.

The outcome of the encounter was England’s first-ever defeat against an African opponent.

“Not good enough. We had moments, but with and without the ball things aren’t clicking, we’re not finding the right tempo,” Kane said at his post-match interview.

“We have lost that aggressive nature that we had.”

Kane also said England must improve as soon as possible if they are to contend for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after their latest defeat.

England head coach, Thomas Tuchel has suggested why his team lost 3-1 against Senegal in an international friendly on Tuesday night.

Tuchel watched as Senegal came from a goal down to beat the Three Lions at City Ground.

Harry Kane gave the hosts the lead in the seven minutes of the encounter.

But three goals from Ismaila Sarr, Habib Diarra, and Cheikh Sabaly gave the West African giants the victory against England.

However, Tuchel believes his side lost to the visitors because his team conceded very two easy goals.

According to him, England had big chances to equalize but failed to convert it.

“Yeah of course, it is a disappointing result,” Tuchel told TV Sport.

“We conceded the first two goals – very easy goals, we need to defend better.

“The reaction was good after we were down. We suddenly were more active, more free, more fluent, more aggressive. We had big chances to equalise.”
