Fuel Scarcity: Police Officer Fatally Sh∞ts Man Who Tried To Stop Him From Jumping Queue At A Filling Station In Lagos.

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed that one of its officers sh%t and k+lled a young man at a filling station belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited at Obalende area of the state on Wednesday evening, May 1.

The deceased, identified as Toheeb Eniasa, was sh%t d£@d for trying to stop the officer and his colleague from jumping the queue at the filling station.

According to Vanguard, an eyewitness Idowu, trouble started when two police officers drove into the station to buy petrol while many others were on the queue to buy the scarce product.

Explaining further, Idowu said: “The actions of the armed officers were met with stiff resistance from people who had been waiting in the queue for over five hours. The deceased Toheeb Eniasa was one of the people who spoke loudly against the officers asking them to join the queue like everyone else.

Quickly the verbal confrontation degenerated into a fisticuff. One of the men sh%t the young man and immediately fled the incident scene leaving the area in disarray.”

According to another eyewitness, a food vendor Funmi Aina said: “That is what they always do. It was not Toheeb’s turn yet but he confronted them, asking them to join the queue or be polite about the way they went about the purchase.

“One of them was so impatient. He sl@pped Toheeb and he retaliated with more words. Before we could know it, we heard g¥nshots and Toheeb fell to the ground.

Livid by the incident, an irate mob in the community went on rampage b¥rning two security vans in the process.”

It will be recalled that in the past one week commuters, motorists and residents have been struggling to purchase fuel because of the scarcity. The scarcity has led to an increase in transport fares and queues at various filling stations selling the product.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said: “I can confirm that somebody was sh%t d£ad. I can confirm that the body has been deposited in the morgue.”
