Kano State: Labourer accused of stealing Mosque’s amplifier in Kano

A 36-year-old labourer identified as Abdullahi Garba has been arraigned before a Sharia Court in Kano State for allegedly stealing an amplifier worth N80,000 from a mosque.

 

The suspect who resides at resides in Kawon Lambu Hotoro, Nasarawa Local Government in Kano, was arraigned on Monday, March 18, on charges of criminal trespass and theft.

 

Prosecution counsel, Inspector Abdullahi Wada, said the suspect was arrested after the case was reported on March 14 at Hotoro Police Station. The suspect pleaded not guilty to the charge.

 

The judge, Malam Umar Lawal-Abubakar, however, admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N40,000 with one reliable shorty, who was a blood relation.

 

Lawal-Abubakar adjourned the matter until April 23 for trial.

The abused 14-year-old Bashariya, is a maid from Zamfara State . The video showed the girl sustaining injuries from the abuse. Nigeria Police vow swift action, urging citizens to report abuse and protect vulnerable children across communities.
