Nigerian singer Simi has addressed the controversy surrounding some of her old tweets that recently resurfaced online.

In a post on X, she explained that the tweets were made about 14 years ago when she was 23 and helping out at her mother’s daycare while trying to build her music career.

According to her, she used to tweet freely about her daily life at the time, including funny or cute moments involving children, stressing that none of the posts came from any inappropriate intent.

She said she cannot allow anyone to twist her story to fit what she described as false narratives, adding that she has always spoken strongly against rape and sexual assault.

Simi also revealed that although she did not initially want to, her team has been deleting some of the old tweets because of how sensitive the situation is for her family.

“He Locked Me in His Room for Days” — Actress Juliet Ibrahim Reveals She Was Repeatedly R@ped by Former Partner in Harrowing TV Confession (Video)

Celebrated Ghanaian actress and film producer Juliet Ibrahim has made a deeply personal and harrowing revelation, disclosing publicly for the first time that she was repeatedly raped by a former partner during what she described as an abusive relationship marked by coercion, control, and prolonged captivity.

The actress made the shocking disclosure during an appearance on the popular talk show WithChude, hosted by media personality Chude Jideonwo, in a candid conversation that has since stirred widespread reaction across social media and reignited urgent conversations about segxwal violence within intimate relationships.

Ibrahim recounted how her former partner consistently disregarded her lack of consent, forcing himself on her on multiple occasions despite her explicit objections. Each time she communicated that she was not ready for segxwal intimacy, she said, he responded with a chilling sense of entitlement.

“As long as we are in a relationship, I don’t care,” he would tell her, before proceeding to violate her — a pattern she said repeated itself throughout the course of their relationship.

In perhaps the most disturbing detail of her account, the actress revealed that her former partner went as far as confining her against her will, locking her inside his room for several days at a stretch — a revelation that points to a level of abuse extending well beyond segxwal violence into unlawful imprisonment.

Ibrahim’s courageous decision to speak openly about her ordeal has drawn an outpouring of support from fans, fellow entertainers, and women’s rights advocates, many of whom have praised her bravery in breaking her silence. Her testimony has also renewed calls for stronger legal protections for survivors of intimate partner segxwal violence across Ghana and the wider African continent.

I’ve been gifted a car by another man as a Married woman but my husband isn’t insecure about it — Actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde

Veteran actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has set social media buzzing after revealing that she was once gifted a car, even while married.

Speaking on Naija FM 102.7, the screen icon dismissed claims that women don’t dominate Nollywood, insisting that women are the real backbone of the industry.

“Women are the ones who hold Nollywood,” she said, stressing that many female actors are not just performers but business owners, influencers, producers, and entrepreneurs.

According to her, most actresses she knows run multiple businesses alongside their acting careers, with some even maintaining full-time professions.

But it was her candid confession about receiving expensive gifts that stole the spotlight.

“Women have admirers,” she said. “Me, who is married, I know how many people have gifted me things, women and men. They’ll just see me and say, ‘Omotola, I’m sending you this.’ They’ve gifted me a car before.”

When asked if the car was returned because she was already married, the actress responded bluntly: “No, why would I return the car?”

Omotola credited her husband’s confidence for the smooth handling of such situations, describing him as “the most secure human being you can ever meet.”

“Think about it, how would you marry an Omosexy if you’re not secure?” she quipped.
