Steve Buscemi joins star-studded cast of Martin McDonagh’s ‘Wild Horse Nine’
https://www.ekwutosblog.comWashington DC [US], March 12 (ANI): The ‘Parting Glances’ actor Steve Buscemi has joined the star-studded cast of ‘Wild Horse Nine‘, a Searchlight feature being directed by Martin McDonagh, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
The project marks McDonagh’s first feature film since his critically acclaimed ‘The Banshees of Inisherin.’
As per The Hollywood Reporter, actor Sam Rockwell, who starred in McDonagh’s Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, as well as John Malkovich and Parker Posey, have already joined the cast for the dark comedic drama that begins shooting later this month in Rapa Nui, also known as Easter Island.
The role Buscemi is set to play was initially offered to actor Mark Ruffalo, according to The Hollywood Reporter. However, the plot and character details remain under wraps.
Veteran actor Buscemi is widely recognised for his memorable roles in classic films such as Reservoir Dogs, Fargo, The Big Lebowski, Con Air and Boardwalk Empire.
Buscemi is also known for his distinctive voice work in the Hotel Transylvania franchise and as Starscream in Transformers One.
The actor will also be next be seen opposite Jenna Ortega in the Netflix series ‘Wednesday.’
‘Wednesday‘, produced by Tim Burton (who also directed the first season), was an instant hit upon making its Netflix debut in November 2022.
The series follows Ortega’s titular Wednesday as she navigates her teenage years at Nevermore Academy.
Ortega, 22, starred alongside Joy Sunday, Emma Myers, Hunter Doohan, Moosa Mostafa, Victor Dorobantu, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzman, Isaac Ordonez and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, all of whom are set to return for season 2, as per The Hollywood Reporter,
Buscemi is also a director, with his last movie, The Listener, starring Tessa Thompson, premiering at the 2022 Venice Film Festival. He also helmed episodes of 30 Rock, Portlandia and the recent postapocalyptic series Miracle Workers. (ANI)

A young woman allegedly gave birth to a baby boy and k!lled the newborn shortly after delivery in Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State.
The disturbing incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Sunday, December 14, 2025 behind Government Secondary School, Gboko, throwing the community into pandemonium and mourning.
Residents are calling for immediate police intervention to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and ensure justice is served.
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement as of the time of this report.
TikTok influencer and livestreamer, Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, has been hospitalised following an incident in which he crashed his newly acquired Mercedes-Benz during an emotional livestream.
The incident occurred on Sunday along the Lekki-Epe Expressway in Lagos during an Instagram live session titled “RIP Peller.”
In the widely circulated video, Peller appeared visibly distressed while driving alone and was seen engaging in what appeared to be a heated phone conversation, reportedly with his girlfriend and fellow content creator, Jarvis, amid reports of a possible breakup.
During the livestream, Peller was seen crying and appearing agitated as he made several troubling remarks, including statements suggesting he might cause an accident and expressions of fear and emotional distress.
He repeatedly voiced concerns about being mocked publicly if the relationship ended and, at one point, stated that he intended to harm himself without putting others at risk.
“I will use this car and have an accident right now,” and later, “I’m scared. I’m scared.
“If you break up with me, people will be mocking me, they will be mocking me, they will be mocking me, they will be, they will be mocking me, they will not… Thank you, I’m going to kill myself.”
Moments later, footage showed him veering off the road and colliding with a barrier, resulting in significant damage to the luxury vehicle.
Bystanders quickly assisted him at the scene, and he was rushed to a hospital.
While reports confirm he was rescued and received medical attention, details on the severity of his injuries remain unconfirmed.
The couple’s relationship has been turbulent, with previous public arguments, allegations, and reconciliations playing out online. Leaked chats suggesting another breakup have fuelled speculation that this latest dispute triggered the incident.
Social media reactions have been mixed as many expressed genuine concern over Peller’s well-being and mental health, while others questioned if the dramatic event was exaggerated or staged for attention, given his history of viral content.
Calls have emerged for authorities, including the Federal Road Safety Corps, to investigate due to the potential risks to public safety.
