You can’t confine omni-present nature of God to Jerusalem – Cleric speaks on pilgrimage

Published

on

Founder, Solid Rock Kingdom Church in Akwa Ibom State, Apostle John Okoriko has advised Nigerians and people from other parts of the world who scramble to Jerusalem for pilgrimage for healing or to encounter Jesus Christ to note that Christ is everywhere and does not live in Jerusalem.

He said those who go to Jerusalem to have a glimpse of Solomon’s Temple built many years ago are doing so for religious tourism because neither God nor Christ lives there.

Okoriko stated this in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital on Sunday, during the monthly Interactive Service in the new year on the theme, “The Temple of His Body”.

Responding to questions from online callers on the topic, the Cleric stated that the body of Christ is the temple that accommodates everybody on earth who believes in Him.

He also chided those who travel to Jerusalem and return with items such as mud sand from the sea, olive oil and other materials for the purpose of healing, saying one does not necessarily need to travel that far or anywhere before he receives healing from God as He is Omnipresent and can answer prayers from anywhere.

His words, ” The fight between Moslems and Jews over the control /ownership of the Temple in Jerusalem is futile, null and avoid because God does not live in the temple built by man

“Those who visit Jerusalem are only embarking on religious tourism, for those who travel to Jerusalem and return with mud sand from dead sea and items including holy water, Olive Oil, sands for healing, all amount to nothing but empty faith as God doesn’t pass through them to heal his people.

” Why are they confining the God of the whole world who is Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnipresent and has a body known as ‘Omnibody” to a small place in Jerusalem? He is the God of the entire world not living in Jerusalem but present everywhere in the earth.

” If you believe that mud sand from a river in Israel can cure sickness, what makes you think that the sand from my village stream cannot also cure sickness?”

He said Jesus expanded the temple of his body after resurrection and assured his disciples that there are many mansions there where believers can occupy for their peace, comfort and escape from any harm.

Okoriko revealed that the coming back of Jesus to the world is not for non believers, contrary to religious beliefs that Jesus would ride on the cloud and all eyes will see him in the second coming.

” What Jesus would do after his resurrection and ascension has to do with his church and not the world, contrary to what many people are speculating that Jesus would come from the sky and every eye shall see him.

He added, “All the wars in Russia, Ukraine, Syria, Israel and Hamas as well as the fight against terrorism in Nigeria are activities that will bring to an end all forms of human government to pave way for the emergence of the kingdom of God on earth which Christ will establish through the temple of his body.”

I Threw My Expensive Gold Jewelry into the Lagoon the Moment I Became a Born-Again Christian— Pastor Adeboye’s Wife, Foluke

Wife of Foluke Adeboye has revealed the drastic step she took after becoming born again, throwing away her gold jewellery into a lagoon.

Speaking candidly, the pastor’s wife shared that like many women, she once loved fashion and had even prepared expensive gold items for her young child.

However, everything changed after she joined the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), where wearing earrings was frowned upon at the time.

“The moment we were born again, it was a taboo for you to have earrings. So everything, I dropped it in the lagoon,” she said.

She recalled how a family friend questioned her decision, suggesting she could have given the jewellery to her mother to sell instead.

But She stood firm, “Whatever is not good for me is not good for my mother.”

Reflecting on her journey, she made it clear she has no regrets about her sacrifice.
“I don’t miss anything, not much, because I have already sold my life,” she added.

ADC calls on women to lead, shape Nigeria’s future

Published

on

As Nigeria observes International Women’s Day 2026, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has urged women to take active roles in politics and leadership to help build a more inclusive nation.

In a statement on Sunday, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, said Nigerian women carry a disproportionate share of social and economic responsibilities but remain underrepresented in decision-making positions.

“From mothers and teachers to doctors, nurses, and entrepreneurs, women sustain our nation every day. Yet their voices are often absent when decisions about our future are made,” the statement read.

The ADC highlighted that its National Working Committee is deliberately structured to include women, and emphasized that the party is the only one in Nigeria whose constitution reserves 40 per cent of all positions at every level for women.

“For the ADC, women are partners in nation-building, and empowering them strengthens Nigeria’s democracy. When Nigerian women rise, the nation rises with them,” Abdullahi added.

The party urged more women across the country to join its platform and contribute to shaping Nigeria’s political and democratic future.

“To the ADC, women are indispensable to the future of Nigerian democracy. A nation of over two hundred million people cannot reach its full potential when half of its population remains underrepresented in political leadership. Nigeria’s democracy will only become stronger when its institutions reflect the strength, talent, and diversity of its people,” the statement emphasized.
