2027 Imo Guber: Nonsonkwa Declares For Governor under ADC… Says Transparency, Human Right His Watchword
The Mbaitoli born Media personality and Activist, Mazi Chinonso Uba popularly known as Nonsonkwa has declared his intentions to contest for the 2027 Imo Guber under the African Democratic Congress (ADC ) .
Nonsonkwa made the declaration over the weekend while meeting his group of supporters from the Heal Imo Movement, ADC Tactical Team, Nonsonkwa Support Groups from the 27 LGAs of Imo State.
According to Nonsonkwa, his declaration is coming after due consultations with friends and associates in and outside Nigeria.
Nonsonkwa who is known for his defense of human rights in Nigeria made it clear that he will uphold total protection of fundamental human rights of every Imo resident, ensuring absolute adherence to rule of law in governance.
‘My intentions are clear , Total respect for human rights of all Imo residents, Rule of Law in governance, Justice for all and Security of lives & Properties of Imo residents, which is paramount and to be pursued without compromise.
Imo will experience a Liberal Government that will benefit all especially the poor in the state. Jobs will be created, loans for small businesses made available, Education remains topical to return Imo to the top. He said.
The ADC Former House of Rep Candidate stated that his government will restore Imo people’s confidence in government institutions such as the judiciary as the last hope of the common man, sighting that widows, orphans,Persons with disabilities etc will never cry again in Imo, justice will never be for the highest bidder anymore, illegal arrest and detention will become history in Imo. The innocent will not languish in prison and no one will suffer in the hands of security agents in Imo.
Nonsonkwa maintained that governance will be handed over to the people outrightly as communities, Local Government Areas will determine their needs and Government will respond accordingly from the monthly allocation from both the state and LGAs . In this light ,his government will allow full autonomy for LGAs and the Judiciary in the state.
On the crisis rocking the Imo ADC as the platform to realize his ambition, Nonsonkwa said :
” My ambition is Imo Peoples ambition. Those on the streets, those poor women in the village, the unpaid Imo workers and Pensioners. The badly maltreated Imo market traders , the keke bus drivers, the artisans whose little efforts are being rubbished by government agencies and the neglected Persons with disabilities (PWDs). Majority of these people trust me because of my consistency and Advocacy for respect for human rights and Justice. Imo People called and I answered.
On the alledeged Crisis in ADC, there is No crisis In ADC but misunderstanding between the Rebuild Imo and The ADC DNA Members. This is singularly hinged on the total neglect of the ADC Template For Integration as enshrined in the extant ADC constitution by the Rebuild entrants .
Asked if ADC lmo will support Peter Obi or Atiku, Nonsonkwa made it clear that its the turn of the South remain in power as president till 2031. Therefore, Peter Obi will have the total unalloyed and unequivocal support of Imo ADC DNA in Imo.
Nonsonkwa who made it clear that the door is open to all other aspirants, maintained that Imo ADC DNA will not allow men or women of questionable character infiltrate the party.
On structure to winning election, Nonsonkwa maintained that Imo people remains the Only structure he has. Deflating the notion of having the financial muscle for the election, he said ” What God says Will Happen at the appointed time’ He concluded concluded.

IMO ON GLOBAL SPOTLIGHT AS GOVERNOR UZODIMMA KICKS OFF 2025 IMO ECONOMIC SUMMIT.
The governments of Abia and Imo States have announced the launching of a joint security taskforce and surveillance along the Aba-Owerri expressway, starting from Owerrinta in Abia State all the way to Owerri, Imo State.
The launch followed recent attacks by criminals on the expressway, including kidnapping, armed robbery and other criminal activities.
The formation of the joint security taskforce and surveillance was announced by Ferdinand Ekeoma, the Special Adviser to Governor Alex Otti on Media and Publicity.
His statement read in part: “Arising from a strategic emergency security meeting held today, 4th December, 2025, by the Governors of Abia and Imo Sates at the Imo State Government Owerri House, His Excellency Governor Alex Otti and His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodinma resolved to set up a joint security Taskforce that shall consist of Soldiers, Naval Personnel, Police Officers , DSS Personnel, and other Government Security Agencies.
“The joint security Taskforce shall, starting from tomorrow 5th December 2025, patrol the road 24 hours nonstop, while carrying out massive surveillance in the surrounding bushes using sophisticated drones and other modern security equipment.”
According to the statement, Governor Alex Otti commended the Governor of Imo State for arresting the criminals who carried out an attack on His advanced team and other passengers a few days ago.
“The two Governors, while assuring citizens plying the road on a daily basis and those returning home for Christmas of their safety and security, warn that there would be severe consequences for any criminal caught on the road going forward”, Ekeoma concluded.

President Tinubu Transmits to The Senate Lists Of Ambassadorial Nominees
President Bola Tinubu has transmitted to the senate two lists of 34 career and 31 non career ambassadors nominees for screening and confirmation.
Prominent names listed as non career ambassadors include Reno Omokri, Femi Fani-Kayode, Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau, Victor Ikpeazu and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
Also listed as non career ambassadors nominees are Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, Vice Admiral Ete Ibas, Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, Senator Nora Daduut, Fatima Ajimobi, and Senator Ita Enang among others.
The two lists brings to 68 number of persons nominated so far as ambassadors awaiting confirmation by the Senate.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has submitted a fresh set of ambassadorial nominations to the Senate, featuring a mix of distinguished public figures and seasoned professionals drawn from across the country.
Among the notable nominees are former Chief of Army Staff and ex-Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau; former Chief of Naval Staff and immediate past sole administrator of Rivers State, Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas; former senator Ita Enang; and Mrs. Chioma Ohakim, former First Lady of Imo State.
The President formally transmitted two comprehensive lists containing 34 career and 31 non-career ambassadorial nominees, bringing the total number of nominees awaiting Senate confirmation to 68.
The newly submitted lists mark another significant step in the administration’s ongoing diplomatic restructuring, aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s representation and presence across global missions.
The Senate is expected to commence screening and confirmation proceedings in the coming days.
