Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State says he is optimistic that more politicians from the opposition parties will defect to the All Progressives Congress, APC, ahead of the 2027 elections.
He made this known while briefing newsmen in Abuja on Saturday after a meeting with political stakeholders from Delta.
Ekwutosblog recalls that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other party bigwigs in Delta had recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to the APC.
Reacting, Uzodinma said, “You can see the tide is moving and people are joining and there will be no end to it. You must have heard that our party in Delta is growing from strength to strength.
“The high point of the state of the party is that Delta is now almost a one-party state.”
The governor, who chairs the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF), said that with the development in Delta, the APC would use its internal mechanism to integrate old and new members.
“We have to meet to be able to manage this very huge success, to ensure that using the mechanism, the internal mechanism of our great party, that we will receive our new members, our new leaders.
“We will then come together as a family to grow the party and support the government in Delta for the benefit of our people and members of our great party.
“So, I think we are happy with the development and a big testimony to the fact that the APC government in Nigeria is being admired by many, if not all and sundry,” he said.

PRESIDENT BOLA TINUBU AND POLITICS OF LAGOS GOVERNORS

Ex-Imo State State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has refuted speculations making the rounds that he plans to leave the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
Okorocha was reacting to a recent report, which claimed he described the APC as a party “desperate to hijack power”. He denied ever making such a statement.
The former lawmaker, in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Sam Onwuemeodo, described the report as a fabrication by those threatened by his political influence.
Okorocha questioned how he could make such a statement about a party he helped to establish; one that has held federal power since 2015.
Parts of the statement read, “Almost eight years after leaving office as Executive Governor of Imo State, and several years after serving as Senator representing Imo West, those with a phobia of Rochas Okorocha still cannot sleep with their two eyes closed.
“For days now, they have circulated a fake story on social media, falsely quoting me as saying: ‘APC is no longer a political party but a party desperate to hijack power at all costs. I am at the corner looking at them — Senator Rochas Okorocha.’
“Okorocha would never describe a party that has been in government since 2015, and still counting, as ‘desperate to hijack power.’ What power again?”
The former governor said that he was the only sitting governor from the South-East who joined the APC during its formation, risking his re-election in 2015 at a time when the party had little support in the region.
“Okorocha took a political risk when major South-East leaders doubted the viability of the APC. He was ridiculed for his decision, yet he stayed committed.
“It’s important to recall that, due to his dedication, he was unanimously elected by fellow APC governors as the pioneer Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, which he helped to build into a strong force,” the statement added.
The statement stressed that if Okorocha had any concerns about the party, he would not express them in a “badly written social media post” but would address them openly, as is consistent with his political style.

There Is no gain saying that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the architect of modern Lagos
Even if his supporters disagree with me , President Tinubu never had the best of relationships with all the people that he picked as Lagos State Governors
He did everything possible to stop Babatunde Raji Fashola from getting a second term. It was a fierced battle but against all odds BRF succeeded
He was opposed to BRF’s nomination as a Minister but Muhammadu Buhari stood his ground Spy Nigeria recalls.
He fell out with Akinwumi Ambode and stopped his second term bid
Babajide Sanwo-Olu was smart enough, he remained a ” good boy ” , did his biddings inorder to also get a second term
If what is happening between them now happened during his first term , he would have kicked his second term good bye
It is also on records that Tinubu’s two deputies when he was Governor were impeached after they fell out with him
1. Kofo Bucknor
2. Femi Pedro
The question i am asking , Is the problem that of President Bola Tinubu or his loyalists ?
A thief’s dictator that hates being challenged when things are not working but always wanted his own will prevail at all cost irrespective of the consequences. I have been privileged to listen to Mama Kofo analysing how wicked Tifnubu has been when she was his deputy. All the fallouts are on the same issues of fund stealing and diversion of State funds into his person wealth.
