3 Men Arrested in Algeria For Trying To Enter Spain Disguised As Sheep (Video)

Three men have been arrested in Algeria after allegedly attempting to enter Spain in a failed disguise attempt that has since sparked reactions online.

According to reports, the men were trying to cross the border illegally by hiding inside a truck transporting livestock.

In a bid to avoid detection, they allegedly dressed up in sheep costumes and blended in with the real animals on board. The plan, however, did not go as expected.

During a routine inspection, border officials reportedly noticed that some of the “sheep” were behaving strangely.

Authorities observed that a few of the animals appeared to be walking upright on two legs and had visible human features.

Suspicious of the odd movement, officers carried out a closer check and discovered that three of the sheep were actually men in disguise.

They were immediately pulled out of the truck and arrested.

The suspects are now reportedly in custody and facing charges linked to immigration fraud.

Reports also claim they could face additional allegations of animal cruelty after allegedly stepping on and disturbing the livestock while attempting to blend in.

The unusual attempt has drawn widespread reactions on social media.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has ordered the immediate arrest of the owner of a multi-story hotel that collapsed in Jikwoyi, Abuja last Friday, April 4 and announced that the land would be seized for public use.

LIB had reported that the building crumbled while workers were on site, triggering an emergency response from relevant authorities.

Visiting the site today April 7, Wike said the building was constructed without approval from the FCT Department of Development Control and that all the stop-work notices sent to the builders were ignored by the developer.

Wike confirmed that while there were no fatalities, several people sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital. He warned that the outcome could have been far worse.

Announcing the government’s plans for the land, Wike said the FCT Administration will take over the land for public use, noting that those responsible for the illegal construction will face prosecution in accordance with the law.

He added that the local community would be consulted to determine a suitable public-purpose project for the reclaimed site.
