99% Of Ebonyi state Youth Are Street Hawkers In Lagos, Onitsha — Governor Francis Nwifuru(Ebonyi State Governor)

‎Francis Nwifuru, the Governor of Ebonyi State, has expressed concern over the issue of youth unemployment, revealing that an overwhelming majority of street hawkers in Lagos and Onitsha are Ebonyi indigenes.

‎Speaking during the official flag-off of the Ebonyi State Industrial City in Ezzangbo, Ohaukwu Local Government Area, the governor said his administration is committed to bringing those youths back home to empower them with skills and create job opportunities within the state.

‎ According to Governor Nwifuru, a staggering 99% of these young hawkers hail from Ebonyi State, pointing to a pressing need to address the root causes of this phenomenon.

‎Recognizing the importance of tackling youth unemployment head-on, Governor Nwifuru has called for a comprehensive approach that includes job creation, skills development, and vocational training to equip young Ebonyi indigenes with the tools they need to secure gainful employment.

In addition, the governor emphasized the need to foster an environment conducive to business growth and entrepreneurship to stimulate economic opportunities within the state
