A Nigerian female soldier has been dismissed after confessing to st£1ling gold jewellery said to be worth N35 million from an army general’s wife she was attached to in Kaduna.

The female soldier has been identified as Lance Corporal Jonah Comfort with service number 15NA/74/4422F.
SaharaReporters gathered that Comfort reportedly committed the offence earlier in May.
She was said to have entered the senior officer’s room and st%le the jewellery. She later sold the jewellery to a jeweller in Kaduna for N5 million.
According to a source, “The army authorities have been careful over the issue because the general’s wife is a full housewife, so how come she has jewellery worth millions of Naira? The jewellery st%len by the soldier which was valued at N35 million was just part of her collections.
The female soldier had long been monitoring the woman before st£aling the jewellery worth N35 million which she later sold to one jeweller for N5 million but unfortunately she was caught.

‘Nigeria owes you a lot’ – Tinubu pens down birthday message for wife Oluremi

President Bola Tinubu has penned down a birthday message for his wife Oluremi, who turned 65-year-old, saying Nigeria owes the First Lady a lot.
The president, in a statement, described Oluremi as the love of his life and a steadfast source of strength through his years of political struggle and public service.
According to the president, the First Lady had been his anchor during difficult seasons, from years of exile to the demands of leadership, standing by him with patience, dignity, and devotion.
“As you celebrate your 65th birthday today, I honour not only the love of my life, but also a woman whose quiet strength and enduring grace have been my steadying anchor.
“Through every season, from the long years of struggle and political exile, to leadership responsibilities, you have stood firmly by my side with dignity, patience, and devotion that words can scarcely express,” President Tinubu said.

Governor Soludo Commissions Maximum Cap Rice Mills At Awka

Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has commissioned the Maximum Cap Rice Mills Nigeria Limited, built by Honourable Chukwuemeka Egbogah at Umuokpu village Awka; close to the Enugu – Onitsha Express way.
Governor Soludo, represented by the Commissioner for Industry, Mr. Christian Udechukwu, was accompanied by the Mayor of Awka South Local Government, Prince Chinedu Okafor, and the Managing Director of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, ACTDA, Mr. Ossy Onuko.
Speaking at the event, the Governor commended Honourable Egbogah for embracing the “think home” philosophy by investing in his community and contributing to the industrialization drive of the state, while describing the establishment of the rice mill as a laudable initiative that aligns with his administration’s vision of modernizing and expanding industrial development in Anambra.
In his remark, the Chief Executive Officer of Maximum Cap Rice Mills, Honourable Egbogah, said the project was inspired by Governor Soludo’s call on Ndi Anambra to bring their wealth home through the “Aku Luo Uno” policy, and noted that the factory is aimed at creating jobs, stimulating the local economy, and consolidating the state’s leading role in the agricultural sector.
He appealed for government support and protection to ensure sustainability and growth of the investment.
Also speaking, the President General of Umuokpu, Dr. Edwin Okeke, expressed delight over the huge investment, noting that it will open up the community and provide employment opportunities; as it is the first rice mill in Umuokpu.
On his part, the General Manager of the factory, Mr. Emmanuel Egbogah, assured that the facility will be efficiently managed and put to optimal use for the benefit of people in the state and beyond.

Tinubu jets to Kaduna, visit Aisha Buhari, attend Yari son’s wedding

Barring any chance of arrangement, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will visit Kaduna State.
Tinubu will depart Abuja for Kaduna where he is expected to attend the wedding of the son of senator representing Zamfara West, Abdul’aziz Yari.
Disclosing this via an X post, Tinubu’s spokesman, Bayo Onanuga said the president is also expected to visit the widow of late President Muhammadu Buhari, Aisha in Kaduna.
According to Onanuga, Tinubu is expected back in Abuja after the visit.
He wrote: “President Tinubu will attend the wedding ceremony between Nasirudeen Yari and Safiyya Shehu Idris during the visit. Nasirudeen is the son of the senator representing Zamfara West, Abdul’aziz Yari.
“President Tinubu will also pay a courtesy visit to Aisha, the widow of the late former President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, at the family residence in Kaduna.”
