Abia Community To Honour Immigration Officer Who Rejected ₦10m From Alleged Enugu R!tualist

‎The people of Isiala Ngwa community in Abia State have concluded plans to recognise Officer Ugochukwu Orji of the Nigeria Immigration Service for his outstanding integrity and courage.

‎Officer Ugochukwu Orji is being celebrated for rejecting a ₦10m bribe offered in exchange for the release of Mr Levi Obieze, a fugitive native doctor from Enugu who was apprehended while attempting to flee Nigeria

‎Hon. Ginger Onwusibe, Member representing Isiala Ngwa North and South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, who disclosed this on Friday, said the officer will be honoured during the upcoming Grand Civic Reception in honour of the Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti.

‎In his congratulatory message, Hon. Onwusibe praised Officer Orji for living up to the values of integrity and honour associated with Isiala Ngwa people and Abians at large. While congratulating the officer, Onwusibe wrote,

‎ “Congratulations, our dear brother. You have made us proud and shown that the Isiala Ngwa people can be trusted.
‎We have resolved to honour you tomorrow alongside the governor”

‎”I have sent a request for you to be released by your office to attend the event. We will take care of your air ticket and logistics. We are proud of you,”

‎The honour is part of a broader effort to uplift examples of integrity and bravery within public service, reinforcing the values that define the people of Isiala Ngwa and Abia State.
