ADC Receives Solidarity Visit from Arewa United for Peace Foundation
The Arewa United for Peace Foundation, Imo State Chapter, recently paid a solidarity visit to Prof. James Okoroma, the State Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), at the party’s headquarters in Owerri.
This visit not only marked a significant moment of unity but also coincided with the joyous celebrations of Eid-el-Maulud, further emphasizing the spirit of togetherness and goodwill.
During the visit, Alhaji Ilyia Kadggi Amahigh, Chairman of the Arewa United for Peace Foundation, led the delegation and expressed the foundation’s commitment to fostering a strong bond of unity and mutual respect among the diverse communities in Imo State.
He highlighted the Arewa community’s recognition of Prof. Okoroma as a visionary leader capable of advancing inclusive governance through the ADC. The foundation’s support for the party was underscored by their belief in the ADC’s potential to offer a credible alternative to the current political landscape in Nigeria, particularly in addressing economic hardships and political mismanagement.
Comrade Aminu Ahmed, Secretary of the Arewa United for Peace Foundation, further elaborated on the organization’s mission to promote peace, dialogue, and harmonious coexistence across different ethnic and religious backgrounds in Imo State. He emphasized that the partnership between the foundation and the ADC is built on shared values of inclusiveness, equity, justice, and sustainable development. The Arewa community, with its presence in every Local Government Area of Imo State, expressed its determination to collaborate with the ADC in building a better Imo and a greater Nigeria.
In response, Prof. Okoroma extended his deep appreciation to the leadership and members of the Arewa United for Peace Foundation for their solidarity, support, and goodwill. He viewed the visit as a powerful reflection of the unity and brotherhood that Nigeria urgently needs. Prof. Okoroma assured the delegation of the ADC’s unwavering commitment to partnering with credible organizations and communities in the pursuit of peace, justice, and progress, not only in Imo State but across the entire country.
The meeting concluded with prayers and goodwill messages, calling for sustained peace, unity, and prosperity in Imo State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The event was attended by key ADC officials, including Hon. MacDonald Amadi, the State Publicity Secretary, and Mazi Emenike Nmeregini, the State Chief Whip, among others.
This visit marks a significant step in the journey towards fostering stronger relationships between political parties and community organizations in Imo State, with the shared goal of advancing the socio-political and economic well-being of the region.
