Two Catholic priests kidnapped in Adamawa State last week have been rescued from the home of a church altar servant, SaharaReporters has learned.

The priests, identified as Rev. Fathers Matthew David Dusami and Abraham Samman, were abducted on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from their residence at a convent in Gweda Mallam, Numan Local Government Area.

The incident sparked concerns among the faithful, prompting security agencies to launch a search operation. Investigations later identified Taledo Demiel, an altar servant, as the mastermind. Demiel allegedly demanded ₦10 million for their release, but his plan collapsed when he fled after suspecting the presence of security operatives during the ransom collection attempt.
