Anambra 8th Assembly Passed 39 Bills Into Law In 2025 – Hon Somtochukwu Udeze (Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly)

The Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Somtochukwu Udeze, has disclosed that the Eighth Assembly passed a total of thirty-nine bills into law in 2025, describing them as critical legislations aimed at shaping and improving the lives of Ndi Anambra.

He made the disclosure during the Carol and Nine Lessons organized by the Anambra State House of Assembly while noting that the achievements recorded so far reflect the commitment of the legislature to its constitutional responsibilities of lawmaking and oversight.

The Speaker explained that the performance of the Assembly demonstrated that the members were elected to genuinely serve the people through effective representation, quality legislation, and robust oversight of government activities.

He added that significant improvements have been recorded within the House of Assembly complex, including structural upgrades and the enhancement of the legislative chamber to ensure smooth and efficient lawmaking.

The Speaker further stated that deliberate efforts have been made to strengthen institutional capacity through regular training and retraining of both staff and members of the Assembly to improve professionalism and efficiency.

He emphasized that these measures are part of broader steps taken to entrench democratic values, promote transparency, and ensure that the legislature remains responsive to the aspirations of Ndi Anambra.

The event featured presentation of gifts to outstanding staff of the Assembly.
