APGA National Chairman, Archbishop Okeke, others felicitate 60 years of medicare with St. Charles Borromeo hospital Mgt and staff, Onitsha
It was a roll call of creme de la creme in both religious and political circles as the popular St. Charles Borromeo Specialist hospital, Onitsha, Anambra state, marked its 60 years(Diamond jubilee) of existence.
The event attracted the National chairman of All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, Hon Sly Ezeokenwa, Catholic Archbishop of Onitsha, His Grace, Most Rev. Valerian Okeke, Managing Director, Apams limited, (popular Funeral undertakers), Dr. Kelvin Chukwumaobi, clergy, among others.
Speaking at the event, the APGA National chairman, Ezeokenwa, paid glowing tribute to Archbishop Okeke who is the proprietor of the hospital, adding that the Archbishop has been able to perform humanitarian services through the hospital.
In his own contribution, the Managing Director of Apams Limited, Chukwumaobi, expressed satisfaction that the hospital attained the Diamond Jubilee and thanked God for the numerous works the hospital has been doing to save lives.
In an address presented earlier by the staff of the hospital and read by the Secretary of the planning Committee, Dr. Pharm Nnenna Ajagu, they disclosed that Archbishop Okeke as the proprietor of the Hospital, had through his steadfast leadership, and as a luminous beacon, been guiding them in the spirit of the founder of the Hospital, Archbishop Charles Heerey’s noble vision.
She however, highlighted that the Hospital, through Maternal and Child Health, has acquired two more incubators to strengthen neonatal, expanded antenatal and clinic days to improve access for mothers and babies.
Other departments they improved included: Internal Medicine, Surgery, Family Medicine, Orphthaimic and optical Services, Imaging and X-Ray services, laboratory and Diagnostic Services, Pharmaceutical Services, Dialysis Services, Funeral Home and others.
She mentioned some of the projects they would undertake in 2026 including furnishing and equipping the jubilee complex, expand continuous outreach to underserved communities and enhance partnership with donors and sponsors to sustain service.

President Tinubu Immortalizes Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, Renames Federal University of Health Sciences After Him
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has renamed the Federal University of Health Sciences, Azare, Bauchi State, as Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi University of Health Sciences, in honour of the late Islamic scholar and spiritual leader.
The announcement was made during President Tinubu’s condolence visit to the Bauchi State Government and the family of Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.
President Tinubu highlighted the remarkable legacy of the revered cleric, noting that the honour is well deserved.
“The late Sheikh brought impactful knowledge to the people, a great scholar, a Nigerian conscience that had worked so hard on the path of Almighty Allah, preaching the word, the sermon, the knowledge, and the value of honesty, integrity and a great character”, the President said.
The visit provided the President with an opportunity to pay tribute to the late cleric’s lifelong contributions to religious scholarship, national unity, and social development.
“I am here to offer my condolences to all of you: the government, the people, and the public at large—not just Bauchi alone, but the entire country,” he added.
The President also urged Nigerians to uphold Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi’s principles of righteousness, tolerance, and unity, and to ensure that future generations continue to learn from the values he stood for.
Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, expressed profound gratitude to the President for personally paying a condolence visit and for the support extended to the family.
He highlighted that President Tinubu had previously sent Vice President Kashim Shettima and a high-powered delegation to attend the funeral prayers, a gesture reflecting the nation’s respect for the late scholar.
“Looking at the streets, Mr President, you know that the people of Bauchi are with you. It’s a reciprocal love, because even going back to memory lane, you had a good relationship and with the late Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi,” the governor stressed.
Governor Mohammed described the President’s presence as a demonstration of deep solidarity and respect for both the family and the people of Bauchi State.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Dr Bashir Dahiru Usman Bauchi thanked President Tinubu for his support and for recognising Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi’s contributions. He described the late cleric as a global scholar and spiritual leader whose legacy includes the establishment of educational institutions and philanthropic initiatives that benefit both Muslims and non-Muslims across Nigeria and beyond.
Dr Bashir affirmed the family’s commitment to continuing his work under the leadership of the Khalifa, while also praising Governor Mohammed for his unwavering support of the family.
Among those present during the visit were the Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni; the Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang; members of the National Assembly from Bauchi; the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar; and the Minister of Health and Social Development, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate.
Members of the presidential entourage include the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas; a former Speaker, Yakubu Dogara; and former governors Isa Yuguda and Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, among other dignitaries.

IMO LAWMAKER, HON CHIEF SIR CLINTON AMADI AND WIFE MARK 20TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY –APPRECIATES GOD FOR A SUCCESSFUL HEART SURGERY AS HE CELEBRATES 54TH BIRTHDAY
It was another day of joy, celebration and, indeed, appreciation to Almighty God, for Hon Chief Sir Clinton Christopher Amadi, the Member Representing Owerri Municipal State Constituency and Deputy Minority Leader of the Imo State House Of Assembly, his very beautiful wife, Lolo Chief Mrs Nkeiruka Amadi and their five children (four boys and a girl), when they rolled out the drums to mark their successful 20th wedding anniversary, living together as one united family and tearing down challenges of life.
The thunderous and joyous occasion which was held on Sunday, 14th of December 2025 commenced with a Church Thanksgiving Service at St Thomas Moore Catholic Church Area E, New Owerri, very close to the popular Imo Concorde Hotel, and had in attendance, who is who in Imo State.
The Church Thanksgiving Service was followed by an elaborate reception meant for Kings and Queens, at their palatial residence in the state capital, Owerri.
The ceremony heralding the super occasion can only be described in exquisite terms and candour, as Hon Chief Sir Clinton Amadi, who is also the House Committee Chairman On Digital Economy And E-Government, as well as the Alaomajijiji of Owerri, put his feet down and ensured thousands of guests who came from far and near were thrilled with assorted choice food and drinks, and further entertained to no end, with several dance groups and music bands.
Among the multitude of guests were many of the Honorable Members of the Imo State House Of Assembly, led by the Speaker, Rt Honorable Chike Olemgbe. Others included :
1. Rt Honorable Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu, Deputy Speaker.

Their presence underscored the commitment and loyalty of the relationship, which Hon Chief Sir Clinton Amadi has built with the Legislative Arm Of Government, despite being the Deputy Minority Leader of10th House. It also demonstrates how united the Assembly is as a family.

The highlight of the occasion was the cutting of the cake by Hon Chief Sir Clinton Christopher Amadi and his wife, Lolo Chief Mrs Nkeiruka Amadi. It was an event to behold as both of them reignited the fire of their love for each other. As festivities continued, dancing took the center stage, as everyone present danced and thanked God for the 20 eventful years in marriage of the couple of the moment, as well as the 54 years celebration of the man of the moment, Hon Chief Sir Clinton Amadi, Alaomajijiji of Owerri Nchi-ise.
Reflecting on his 20 years in marriage, the lawmaker gave God all the glory. In his words, Hon Clinton Amadi said, *”I give God all the Glory, for seeing us through this journey so far. God blessed us with five dutiful and cool headed children, and we are grateful and thrust in his Grace to continue to support us. I also appreciate God for making it possible for me to be alive to celebrate my 54th birthday. I bow to God’s Almightiness and limitless grace in my life. He gave me a second chance to live after a successful heart surgery. I am very grateful. I also appreciate everyone who found time to come and celebrate with us. I love you all. “*
