CLARIFICATION ON THE RECENT PUBLIC NOTICE ABOUT OKADA AND MINI BUSES IN OWERRI
There’s been some mix-up about the recent announcement from the Imo State Government on the renewed enforcement of the ban on Okada operations and related activities in the capital city.
To be clear, the state did not ban the operation of mini buses (popularly called Keke bus or busImo) within Owerri or anywhere else.
What the notice stated — especially in the paragraph many have shared — is a warning against loading, parking, or stopping at unauthorized places like roadsides or areas not designated for passenger pick-up and drop-off.
So, while Okada operations remain banned within specified routes, mini bus operators are only expected to comply with traffic and parking regulations.
Let’s help spread the correct information. The goal is order, not confusion.
