On May 20, 2025, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), led by Chairman Ola Olukoyede, handed over a 753-unit housing estate in Lokogoma, Abuja, previously owned by former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor Godwin Emefiele, to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, under Minister Ahmed Dangiwa.
The estate, described as the EFCC’s largest single asset recovery, was forfeited to the federal government following a court ruling.
The housing units, consisting of duplexes and apartments, are set to be sold through a transparent and competitive auction process to recover funds for the government
