EFCC manufactured overnight terror financing charges against Bauchi Gov – Udenta

Published

Former National Secretary of the Defunct Alliance for Democracy, AD, Prof Udenta O. Udenta, has accused the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, of manufacturing terror financing charges against Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State.

Udenta made this allegation on Tuesday, when he appeared as a guest in an interview on Arise Television monitored by Ekwutosblog.

“No one is above the law; no governor or president is exempted from investigation. Prosecution can occur even after an individual has left office.

“However, openly investigating a sitting governor can distract from the state’s governance.

“The EFCC’s pursuit of Bala Mohammed through the media, and the corrupt criminalization of his image and reputation, is reprehensible.

“His name is dragged all over the place. In every issue of terror financing, his name is there, well deposited for the world to see. And the implications are global in nature.

“If you recall, the judge asked the EFCC bring these guys to me three times. The weekly overnight you manufactured terror financing charges, and drag the name of a sitting governor into it. You can investigate the governor quietly and discreetly at the end of his tenure,” he said.
