The Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Center, a flagship project of Governor Hope Uzodimma’s administration is almost completed.
Named in honor of the late Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, a revered Igbo leader and former President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, this edifice is more than concrete and steel; it is a tribute to a titan, and a bold step toward economic transformation.
As the final touches are applied—polished glass facades gleaming, state-of-the-art sound systems and multiple lightening being tested—the anticipation in Owerri is palpable. The center is expected to be a catalyst for economic growth, creating jobs and boosting tourism alongside other projects like the refurbished Concorde Hilton Hotel.
The Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Center is more than a building; it is a symbol of what Imo State can achieve under determined leadership. As the cranes retreat and the scaffolding comes down, Owerri prepares to welcome a new era.
The center, set to be commissioned by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in August 2025, will stand as a tribute to a man who empowered millions and a governor who dared to dream big.
