ENHANCING NATIONAL SECURITY: NSCDC BOSS PRESENTS OPERATING LICENCES TO 28 PRIVATE SECURITY GUARD COMPANIES CALLS FOR UPSCALLED INTELLIGENCE IN COMBATING INSECURITY

In actualization of one of the pivotal mandate of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps by its establiment Acts 2003 of the National Assembly as amended in 2007;

The NSCDC Commandant General; Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi mni, OFR has presented 28 Operating Licenses to Chief Executive Officers, CEOs of respective Private Security Guard Companies, PGC.

Addressing the National Executives of the Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria (ALPSPN) and the Newly registered Members; the CG said the business of enhancing effective security across the nation is a collective resposibility which calls for prompt and timely Intelligence gathering.

Prof. Audi was represented by the Deputy Commandant General Directorate of Technical Services; DCG Zakari Ibrahim Ningi fdc; who made the presentation of licences to newly registered Private Guard Companies at Corps’ National Headquarters in Abuja.

‘We are acquainted with the fact that most of the Chief Executive Officers of the Private Guard Companies are ex-service men whose wealth of experience would stimulate and provide credible Intelligence needed to enhance adequate security; premise on this, you are therefore charged to uphold the integrity and standards of professionalism and commitment so that together we can build a nation; safe for investors and habitable for technological advancement across board”.

The Commandant General explained that; though the licences might be for business profit, it is also an opportunity for them to contribute their quota to strenghtening national security.

“Be assured that your companies would be assessed and rated based on adherence to regulatory requirements therefore; future relationships with the Corps, including renewal of your licenses shall be based on your performance”.

The NSCDC Boss further stated that the licences are issued in a time when Unified Training Curriculum which translates to guards being exposed to the same training irrespective of their location in Nigeria is launched.

While congratulating the newly licensed companies, he urged them to maintain the qualities of integrity, impeccable character and trustworthiness which were considered requirements before the approval of their licenses.

In an address of welcome, the Assistant Commandant General (ACG) in charge of Private Guard Companies Department, ACG Peter Maigari, fsi, who described the process as rigorous and tedious reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to adherence to professionalism

Also, in their separate goodwill messages, the Director of Legal services, NSCDC, Barr Emmanuel Akisa, the President ALPSPN, Dr Chris Adigwu and the National Vice President Dr Felix Obazee congratulated the newly licensed Chief Executive Officers (CEO) and expressed optimism of significant improvement in the internal security of the nation, a view corroborated by the CEO Zumac and Associates Limited,
Chris Ezuma in his response on behalf of the 28 recipients of Operational licences.

Man in shock after lady he lodged with in a hotel in Abuja flees with his car and other valuables

A Nigerian man is currently in shock after a young lady identified as Precious Chinyere , whom he took to a hotel in the Asokoro area in the FCT for a romantic getaway allegedly fled with his car and other personal belongings on Thursday, February 5,

The distraught man and Precious had visited the hotel and opted for a short time stay. Things took a different in the evening when the man noticed Precious had left the hotel room without notifying him and took along with her some of his personal belongings including phones and laptop and also his car.

The victim immediately reported the incident to the police.

When contacted, the spokesperson of the FCT police command, SP Josephine Adeh, told LIB that the matter is currently being investigated and that efforts are being made to apprehend the suspect.

US Reacts As De@th Toll In Kwara Terror Attacks Hits 200

The United States Mission in Nigeria has condemned the k!lling of more than 200 civilians in recent attacks on communities in Kwara State.

Recall that terrorists launched de@dly attacks on Woro and Nuku communities in Kaiama Local Government Area of the state on Tuesday night, k!lling unsuspecting citizens.

It was gathered that the gunmen invaded the villages, opened fire on residents and burned homes.

According to reports, the de@th toll from the unfortunate incident hit 200 on Thursday night.

Reacting, the US Mission Nigeria condemned the k!lling via a post on its official X handle.

The post reads, “The United States condemns the horrific attack in Kwara state in Nigeria, which claimed the lives of more than 160 people, with the de@th toll still unconfirmed and many still unaccounted for.

“We express our deepest condolences to the families of those affected by this senseless violence.

“We welcome President Tinubu’s order to deploy security forces to protect villages in the area and his directive to federal and state officials to provide aid to the community and bring the perpetrators of this atrocity to justice.”
