Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, famously known as Evans, the convicted billionaire kidnapper, has taken a significant legal move by opting for a plea bargain in the face of attempted murder charges.

Alongside his co-defendant Joseph Emeka, who is entangled in charges of murder and attempted kidnapping, Evans has approached the Lagos State High Court in Ikeja seeking a settlement.

During the proceedings before Justice Adenike Coker, the state prosecution counsel, Mr. Yusuf Sule, revealed the plea bargain option to the court on Thursday.

The defendants are set to be re-arraigned on an amended five-count charge including murder, attempted murder, and conspiracy to commit a felony related to kidnapping and attempted murder.

While Sule informed the court about the plea bargain application, he also mentioned that the terms are currently under review by the Attorney-General of Lagos State, Mr. Lawal Pedro (SAN).
