Food vendor gifted me Nkwobi, wanted Rema in return – Don Jazzy

Don Jazzy

Music executive Don Jazzy has shared a hilarious encounter with a food vendor on his verified Instagram page.

The Mavin Records CEO explained why he’s wary of accepting gifts, as they often come with unexpected strings attached.

In the video, Don Jazzy recounted how a food vendor gifted him free Nkwobi, which he happily accepted and enjoyed.

He, however, said things took a funny turn when the vendor later approached him, demanding a favour in return.

According to Don Jazzy, the favour was to release one of his top signees, Rema, to her.

Laughing at the absurdity, Don Jazzy jokingly questioned the “exchange rate” of Nkwobi for Rema and playfully warned fans to stop offering him gifts.

He said, “Okay, guys, we need to talk about this — this is exactly why I don’t like collecting free stuff.

“You’re selling nkwobi, then out of nowhere you give me free nkwobi. I didn’t ask, but you insisted. I accept it, eat it, and enjoy it.

“Now suddenly, you want me to return the favour — you’re asking me to give you Rema? Because of free nkwobi? How does that even add up? It’s the exchange rate for me!

“Please, nobody should give me gifts again. I’m not interested. Thanks and goodbye.”
