Former Osun REC, Abdulganiy Raji is dead

A former Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Osun State, Professor Abdulganiy Raji is dead.

Raji, a professor at the University of Ibadan, hailed from Ogbomoso in Oyo State.

Until his death, Raji was a strong pillar of University of Ibadan Muslim community.

The news of his death was announced Friday evening through a statement issued by the University of Ibadan Muslim community.

In the statement obtained by Ekwutosblog, the Muslim community disclosed that the former REC would be buried tomorrow at his hometown, Ogbomoso.

The statement reads, “Inna lillahi wa inna illaehi raajiuun. With a heart that is full of sadness but in total submission to the will of Allah, I am directed by the Chief Imam to announce the demise of a strong pillar of this community, Prof. Abdulganiy Raji.

“His janazah will take place at Ogbomoso tomorrow. The UIMC team will leave the campus for the burial by 6.30am tomorrow, in shaa Allah. May Allah grant him al-jannah fridaos. Aamin”.
