Governor Soludo Commissions Maximum Cap Rice Mills At Awka

Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has commissioned the Maximum Cap Rice Mills Nigeria Limited, built by Honourable Chukwuemeka Egbogah at Umuokpu village Awka; close to the Enugu – Onitsha Express way.

Governor Soludo, represented by the Commissioner for Industry, Mr. Christian Udechukwu, was accompanied by the Mayor of Awka South Local Government, Prince Chinedu Okafor, and the Managing Director of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, ACTDA, Mr. Ossy Onuko.

Speaking at the event, the Governor commended Honourable Egbogah for embracing the “think home” philosophy by investing in his community and contributing to the industrialization drive of the state, while describing the establishment of the rice mill as a laudable initiative that aligns with his administration’s vision of modernizing and expanding industrial development in Anambra.

In his remark, the Chief Executive Officer of Maximum Cap Rice Mills, Honourable Egbogah, said the project was inspired by Governor Soludo’s call on Ndi Anambra to bring their wealth home through the “Aku Luo Uno” policy, and noted that the factory is aimed at creating jobs, stimulating the local economy, and consolidating the state’s leading role in the agricultural sector.

He appealed for government support and protection to ensure sustainability and growth of the investment.

Also speaking, the President General of Umuokpu, Dr. Edwin Okeke, expressed delight over the huge investment, noting that it will open up the community and provide employment opportunities; as it is the first rice mill in Umuokpu.

On his part, the General Manager of the factory, Mr. Emmanuel Egbogah, assured that the facility will be efficiently managed and put to optimal use for the benefit of people in the state and beyond.
