The Imo State Government, under the administration of Governor Hope Uzodimma, has implemented a quiet but strategic reshuffling of two major commissioner positions—an adjustment designed to strengthen governance efficiency and enhance sectoral performance across the state.

In the newly approved realignment, Chief Barr. Ernest Ibejiako (popularly known as NwaNdaa), who previously oversaw the Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Solid Minerals, has been reassigned to take charge of the Ministry of Tourism. His redeployment places him at the forefront of Imo’s expanding tourism sector, which continues to gain prominence under the Shared Prosperity Government.

On the other hand, Barr. Evang. Jerry Egemba, the former Commissioner for Tourism, has now assumed leadership of the Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Solid Minerals. His new appointment positions him at the center of the state’s industrial drive, particularly at a time when regulatory compliance and land-use planning in industrial clusters are drawing increased attention.

Investigations by ThePressman Newspaper reveal that both commissioners have already transitioned smoothly into their new offices. Reports indicate that they are delivering effectively in their respective roles, ensuring continuity and stability within the ministries affected by the reshuffle.

In a related update, the Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Solid Minerals issued an important public notice approximately four days ago regarding the Naze–Nekede Industrial Master Plan Layout. The announcement cautioned individuals, companies, and groups against initiating any form of construction or structural development within the designated industrial zone without formal authorization from the Honourable Commissioner.

The ministry emphasized that further guidelines and compliance directives will be released soon, urging all stakeholders to adhere strictly to the regulations that govern activities within the industrial layout.

The official notice was signed by the newly appointed Commissioner, Barr. Jerry Egemba, reaffirming the government’s commitment to maintaining order, protecting industrial infrastructure, and guiding development in accordance with established planning frameworks.
