GOVERNOR UZODIMMA BEGINS CONSTRUCTION OF A TECH HUB (COMPUTER VILLAGE)
Governor Hope Uzodimma has officially commenced the construction of a state-of-the-art Computer Village in Imo State, a landmark project aimed at transforming the state into a major technology and innovation hub in Nigeria.
The ambitious development, located at New Market, Owerri, is designed to serve as a modern commercial and ICT center that will house hundreds of tech-related businesses, including hardware vendors, software developers, training institutes, and repair services.
From the project’s design renderings, the facility will feature multiple blocks of multi-storey complexes with ample parking space, modern infrastructure, and a central administrative building. Each unit is expected to provide conducive spaces for digital enterprises and startups to operate efficiently.
It is worthy of note that Governor Uzodimma, stated that the Computer Village will not only create thousands of jobs for Imo youths but also position our state as a leading destination for technology and commerce in Nigeria.
The project, once completed, is expected to boost the local economy, attract investors, and reduce the state’s dependence on traditional markets by opening up opportunities in the fast-growing digital economy.
