In a fresh demonstration of his administration’s commitment to infrastructural renewal, Imo State Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, has approved the award of contracts for the full construction of all internal roads within New Owerri. The initiative, designed to enhance urban mobility and stimulate economic growth, underscores the government’s unwavering dedication to modernizing the state capital and improving the quality of life for its residents.
Similarly, the Governor has given approval for the long-awaited reconstruction of the Anara (Isiala Mbano)–Nwangele–Nkwerre–Orlu Road, which will extend to Eziachi in Orlu. This major inter-local government artery, once completed, will significantly ease travel, promote commerce, and restore convenience to thousands of motorists and traders who have long suffered from its deplorable state.
Adding to the list of transformative projects, the Control Flyover–Onitsha-Owerri–Ama Oka Road, stretching to the Anambra border, has also been awarded for total rehabilitation. The project includes the installation of modern streetlights to ensure visibility, safety, and aesthetic appeal along this critical gateway into Imo State.
Governor Uzodimma reaffirmed that these infrastructural interventions are integral to his administration’s broader vision of creating a seamless road network across all parts of the state. According to him, the projects are not just about roads but about economic empowerment, regional integration, and restoring Imo’s pride as the infrastructural hub of the South East.
