Asaba, April 25, 2025 – Harrison Gwamnishu, Senior Special Assistant on Civil Society and Youth Mobilization to Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, has resigned from his position effective immediately.

In a letter addressed to the Governor, Gwamnishu cited the state’s worsening insecurity situation as the reason for his resignation. Despite repeatedly bringing concerns and proposed solutions to the administration’s attention, Gwamnishu expressed disappointment that meaningful action has not been taken.

“I have come to the unfortunate realization that meaningful solutions are not being accepted by your administration,” Gwamnishu stated.

The resigned aide emphasized his commitment to the safety and well-being of Delta State communities, but lamented the lack of prioritization of insecurity issues.

Gwamnishu’s resignation letter has sparked renewed calls for the government to address the state’s security challenges.

The Governor’s office has yet to comment on the resignation.
