‎Omoyele Sowore, former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has shared his views about the Federal Government’s decision to spend ₦712 billion on upgrading the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.

‎In a video shared by Sahara TV, Sowore said the amount is far too much for the project. He said that with that much money, it is possible to build at least five brand new international airports from scratch. ‎In Sowore’s words:

“I can’t believe that anybody is trying to fix the Murtala Mohammed international airport with 712 billion naira when as a matter of fact, I know that I can build 5 new airports with that of international standard.so this is just another plan to syphon public funds..It was not long ago that Stella Oduah, former aviation minister, under Jonathan claimed they did the same thing at the airport and now the airport looks like the airport in Yemen”

Sowore mentioned that ‎ the federal government is raising money for elections, according to him, they could steal from whomever they want. He cautioned the public to watch their wallet.
