VIDEO: Davido, Asa ignite Gateway Games 2024 opening in Abeokuta
Nigerian music stars David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, and the soulful Bukola Elemide, known as Asa, lit up the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta today with unforgettable performances that marked the official opening of the Gateway Games 2024.
Asa opened the ceremony with a powerful rendition of the national anthem, setting a soulful and dignified tone. Davido followed with his signature energy, delivering a high-octane performance that brought the stadium to life and set the stage for a celebration of talent, culture, and sporting excellence.
The games officially began on Friday with the arrival of participating states. Early competitions in weightlifting and Kung Fu got the action rolling ahead of today’s opening ceremony.
This is the second time Ogun State is hosting the prestigious multi-sport event, nearly two decades after their first outing in 2006.
