Victor Osimhen has once again expressed deep love for Turkish Super Lig champions, Galatasaray.

Osimhen moved to Galatasaray from Serie A outfit Napoli last September.

The 26-year-old has become a cult hero among the club fans following his impressive displays.

Osimhen has led the team’s quest for a third consecutive league title in the absence of injured captain Mauro Icardi.

The Nigeria international has registered 33 goals across all competitions for Okan Buruk’s side.

Galatasaray will also face Trabzonspor in the final of the Turkish Cup later this month.

“There is a mutual bond, a real sense of belonging between me and Gatalasaray,” he told Galatasaray TV.

“To be honest, I will forever be grateful to Galatasaray.

“I think Galatasaray is the club I have enjoyed the most in my career so far, the club with the most passionate and even most compassionate fans.”

2026 WCQ: I didn’t like it – Tuchel slams England players despite 1-0 win over Andorra

England manager, Thomas Tuchel, has revealed he did not like the “lack or urgency” from his players following a narrow 1-0 win over Andorra.

Harry Kane scored the only goal of the game in the 2026 World Cup qualifier on Saturday.

But Tuchel was unhappy with the performance and accused the players of not trying hard enough after 25 minutes.

According to him, the players were left in no doubt as to his opinion of their display against the minnows.

“I think we started quite well in the first 20-25 minutes, that was the only part where I had the feeling it was a matter of time,” he told ITV Sport.

“We lost completely the momentum [and] couldn’t get it back through the whole first half.

Tuchel added: “It is still a World Cup qualifier away from home. I didn’t like it at all.

“All the players know because I said it in the dressing room.

“It is also necessary to have a look in detail and watch the match again.”

Since he took over the team, Tuchel has won all three fixtures so far, as the post-Gareth Southgate era continues to take shape.

Former France winger, Franck Ribery, appeared to hit out at Cristiano Ronaldo’s latest comments on the Ballon d’Or award, seemingly expressing his bitterness at missing out in 2013.

Ribery took to social media on Saturday, to question Ronaldo’s comments on what the criteria to win the award should be.

Speaking to reporters, Ronaldo suggested that Ousmane Dembele should win this year’s Ballon d’Or, as he has won the Champions League with Paris Saint-Germain.

“The individual awards have lost some consensus; I can’t say anything about who should win. In my opinion, those who stand out and win the Champions League should win,” Ronaldo said.

Despite winning the Champions League in the 2012-13 season with Bayern, Ribery finished third in the 2013 Ballon d’Or rankings behind Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Now, following Ronaldo’s latest comments, Ribery took to social media and posted: “So you NEED to win the Champions League to win the Ballon d’Or?”

Former Chelsea midfielder, John Obi Mikel, has admitted that his old club is not getting Napoli striker Victor Osimhen this summer transfer window.

Obi Mikel also hoped that Chelsea’s new signing Liam Delap performs and give first-choice striker Nicolas Jackson competition at the club.

Speaking to talkSPORT, the former Super Eagles captain said: “Everyone knows the number nine [Victor Osimhen] that I want us to get, but we’re not getting him.

“We need to get Osimhen, but I don’t think the club is going that route.

“We’ve gotten [Liam] Delap and I hope he performs and gives Nicolas Jackson some competition.

“Then we’ll see how it leads us from the FIFA Club World Cup into the Premier League and the Champions League.”

Osimhen has been a long time transfer target for Chelsea.

The Premier League west London club failed to bring the Nigerian to Old Trafford last year.
