IGBO DIASPORA URGES IMO GOVERNOR TO ESTABLISH UK OFFICE TO BOOST INVESTMENTS
The Igbo community in the United Kingdom has appealed to Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, to set up a formal diaspora office in the UK, describing it as a crucial step to attract investors and strengthen ties with professionals abroad.
Mr. Ejike Ikezuagu, founder and President of the Igbo Council of Elders in the UK, expressed admiration for the governor’s administration, noting progress in key sectors such as infrastructure, energy, and youth empowerment. He highlighted the state’s road rehabilitation projects and ongoing gas flaring initiatives designed to provide 24-hour electricity and promote industrial growth.
“The Imo community in the diaspora is proud of these achievements,” Ikezuagu said, adding that support for small and medium enterprises, as well as youth skills programs, has helped foster entrepreneurship and self-reliance.
