IMO ADC WARNS AGAINST FRAUDULENT “EMPOWERMENT SCHEME FORM”
The African Democratic Congress (ADC), Imo State Chapter, raises alarm over a purported “Empowerment Scheme Form” circulating in the name of the Imo State Government through the Ministry of Rural Development & Economic Empowerment.
True empowerment initiatives uplift citizens through jobs, business grants, and skills development – not by demanding sensitive personal data such as:
>Bank Verification Number (BVN)
>Bank Account Number and Bank Name
>National Identification Number (NIN)
>Voter’s Card Number
ADC views this as a deliberate scheme to exploit citizens and manipulate the electoral process. This is not empowerment; it is data harvesting dressed as benevolence. No credible programme anywhere requires voter ID as a condition for assistance.
We urge all Ndi Imo to exercise caution and refuse submission of personal information under this guise. Security agencies, civil society groups, and election monitors must investigate this alarming development without delay.
The ADC, Imo State Chapter, remains steadfast in protecting the interests of the people and championing genuine empowerment rooted in transparency, equity, and service.
