The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Imo state has began the party’s campaign rallies for the upcoming November 11 Governorship Election in the state starting with Owerri and Mbaike Federal Constituencies.

The leaders, party faithful and party officials of the two federal constituencies who trooped out en mass at their different addresses assured the governor of their votes come November 11.

Adddresing the party faithful, the coordinator of the campaign for Owerri Zone, Prince Alex Mbata assured the governor that Owerri federal constituency is in tact for the governor while Prince Charles Amadi while speaking for Mbaike said that the constituency is ready to re-elect the governor stressing that “Our machineries are battle ready” waiting to re-elect the governor.

Responding, The candidate of the party and the governor of the state, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma while addressing cheerful crowd of party faithful said that he has something to show for the time he has spent as Governor of the state.

“We have something to show for dividends of democracy for Imo State” while stressing that the state before his coming to office was in filthy and disorganised state where little things as payment of salaries and pensions were a great thing and difficult to pay.

“Before I came, payment of salaries and pensions were difficult to pay and was seen as impossible” said the governor, stressing of how his administration has cleaned up the state that make it possible for workers and pensioners to receive their entitlements as and when due.

Governor Uzodimma informed the enthusiastic crowd of his administration’s upcoming moves to create more jobs thru foreign direct investments as he informed the elated masses that the state government under his watch has concluded a partnership arrangement that will commence before the end of November of this year to attract a 1 billion dollars Investment From Qatar.

“With a gas industry consolidated company of Qatar, a funding agreement of 1 billion dollars Investment From Qatar that will create 150 Industries using gas as raw materials has been reached.”

The Governor said apart from the government’s already created initiatives of job creation thru the skill up Imo project which has trained 20,000 young Imolites on digital skills in addition to various youth empowerment skills which the administration has already executed, the foreign direct investment of 1 billion dollars from gas consolidated industries from Qatar will further boost the job initiatives of the state government.

The Governor said that he is not one of those contestants who will be promising the people of what to do for them rather he is telling the people of what he has done for them and what he is currently doing for them and the need to consolidate on the things he is doing by re-electing him come November 11.

Our party is committed to upholding the principles of democracy, fairness, and transparency in all our activities. We will not allow any individual or group to compromise these values.
