IMO POLICE COMMISSIONER VISITS AWO-OMAMMA CRASH SITE, ORDERS PROBE AND CAUTIONS MOTORISTS.

The Imo State Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma, on Wednesday, 10th September 2025, visited Awo-Omamma along the Owerri/Onitsha Expressway, the scene of the tragic road accident that claimed twelve lives on 7th September. He was joined by the Imo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Corps Commander Udensi Emea Oji, alongside senior security officials.
While addressing the incident, CP Danjuma conveyed heartfelt sympathy to the families of the victims, which included both adults and children, and extended prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured currently undergoing treatment.
The Police Commissioner has mandated the State Traffic Officer (STO) to conduct a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. He further directed heightened enforcement of road safety laws across Imo State to discourage reckless behaviors such as dangerous overtaking, overspeeding, and careless driving.
CP Danjuma reminded motorists that road safety is a shared responsibility, urging drivers to strictly obey traffic rules, put safety first, and help prevent needless loss of lives.
