Jigawa Grand Khadi summons Shari’a court judge, others
The Grand Khadi of Jigawa State, Khadi Sani Salihu, has summoned a Shari’a court judge along with several court staff over cases of absenteeism uncovered during a surprise inspection.
The revelation came through a statement issued Thursday in Dutse by the Director of Publicity and Protocol of the Jigawa State Judiciary, Abbas Rufa’i Wangara.
According to the statement, the inspection is part of broader efforts to enhance transparency and accountability within the Shari’a court system.
The Grand Khadi personally led the unscheduled inspection team, accompanied by the Acting Chief Registrar of the Shari’a Court of Appeal, Kabiru Gumel.
Rhe team visited multiple courts, including the Yalwan Damai Shari’a Court and the Higher and Upper Shari’a Courts in Birnin Kudu Local Government Area.
During the visit, several court personnel were found absent without official leave or prior notification, a development that prompted immediate disciplinary measures.
