John Cena Retires From Wrestling (Video)

Published

on

John Cena’s in-ring WWE career officially ended on Saturday night at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., bringing down the curtain on more than two decades at the top of professional wrestling.

The farewell headlined the final WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event of 2025 and delivered a definitive, emotional conclusion to one of the industry’s most influential careers.

Cena’s last match saw him submit to Gunther after a punishing, near 24-minute main event that blended intensity, respect and finality.

The crowd remained fully invested throughout, rallying behind Cena in the hope of a last-gasp victory that never came.

While the result shocked many in attendance, the post-match atmosphere quickly shifted to appreciation as Cena addressed the crowd, surrounded by WWE talent and staff.

Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes faced NXT Champion Oba Femi in the opening bout, but interference from Drew McIntyre led to a disqualification finish.

Despite the short runtime, Femi emerged as a clear winner in perception, making him a future main-event player.

Meanwhile, Sol Ruca delivered one of the standout performances of the night, defeating Bayley in a result that felt less like an upset and more like a statement.

Her athletic offence and confidence marked her as a rising force in the women’s division.

The final match before Cena’s farewell featured World Tag Team Champions AJ Styles and Dragon Lee against Je’Von Evans and TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater.

Despite the difficult slot ahead of the main event, the bout delivered action and kept the crowd engaged.

Cena exits WWE having helped elevate the company to new commercial heights, while deliberately leaving the spotlight to the next wave of stars.

Afrobeats superstar Wizkid has finally responded to Seun Kuti’s ongoing criticisms of his fanbase, Wizkid FC, after the Afrobeat singer accused them of disrespecting his late father, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.

The feud began after Seun Kuti berated Wizkid’s fans of disrespecting the late Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, by comparing Wizkid to him.

While Wizkid FC denies making such comparisons, the debate quickly went viral on social media, attracting reactions from fans and followers.

Rather than addressing Seun Kuti directly, Wizkid took to his Instagram story to share a video of a woman speaking in Yoruba, criticizing Seun’s behavior.

She accused him of obsessively attacking Wizkid’s fanbase over several days, acting irrationally, and questioning his own accomplishments compared to his father’s legacy.

In another Instagram story post, Wizkid directly addressed Seun Kuti.

He wrote: “I Big pass your papa. Wetin you won do? Fool at 40. I’m Big Wiz everyday.”

Popular Nollywood star, Sarah Martins, has reportedly collapsed and taken to the hospital following a sudden health emergency.

Ekwutosblog  reports that the actress shared details of the frightening incident on her Instagram page, explaining that she woke up unable to feel parts of her body and momentarily feared she was lifeless.

Despite the alarming symptoms, Sarian said she still pushed herself to go to her shop to carry out inventory and conduct interviews for new staff. It was during this process that she reportedly slumped and was immediately taken to the hospital.

Doctors subjected her to more than 30 medical examinations including checks for cancer, fibroid, kidney and liver function, malaria, and typhoid but all tests returned negative.

Narrating her ordeal, she wrote: “Woke up today and couldn’t feel any part of my body. For a second, I felt lifeless. I still struggled and went to my stores to do inventory and a few interviews for incoming employees, and that was when I slumped.

“All through December, I worked every single day, and even when my staff travelled for the season celebration, I still kept working. No days off, no stretches, no nothing… just a walking corps working tirelessly to cater for others, forgetting myself.

“I did over 32 tests today, and all came out negative, including cancer, fibroid, liver, kidney, malaria, typhoid, etc. I guess God took proper care of my organs while I neglected my body.

“I am typing this from a sick bed, but I will be fine because the God that protects the vulnerable kids I struggle for will never fail me.

They said I’m extremely exhausted and need proper bed rest. Thank you, Heavenly Father, for your constant protection over my life.”

Medical personnel have reportedly advised her to embark on complete rest due to extreme exhaustion. Her fans and colleagues have since flooded her page with prayers and well-wishes.

Tiwa Savage

By Adegboyega Adeleye

Afrobeats superstar Tiwa Savage has revealed that her preference for a girl child led to her struggle to bond with her son, Jamil Balogun, after his birth in 2015.

Speaking on the recent episode of the FlowWithKorty podcast, the 45-year-old singer revealed that discovering her baby’s gender during pregnancy brought her profound disappointment.

She further shared her struggles and the challenges of postpartum life, including losing a major campaign deal due to her changed appearance. Recounting this experience, Tiwa Savage said it made her feel like her son had “destroyed” her career. She linked a part of her emotional distance to the drastic changes in her body, which she felt negatively impacted her career.

“Honestly, I didn’t bond with my son for the first year or two. I always wanted a girl. They told me it was a boy, and I started crying.

“So, when he came he was always crying and my body didn’t snap back. I looked horrible. I was supposed to do a campaign with Pepsi at the time and they turned me away. And I just thought this boy has destroyed me. But now, he is my best friend,” Tiwa Savage said.

The singer, who was married to talent manager Tunji ‘TeeBillz’ Balogun from 2013 to 2018, welcomed Jamil in 2015.

According to her, she is also focused on raising Jamil to be a kind and respectful man, advising him to treat women with care and respect, because of how she suffered and her sad experiences in past relationships.

“I always tell him, your mum suffered oo, make sure you treat any girl like a queen. It is very important for me to raise him as a good man. He is going to make mistakes, he is not perfect. But at the core of him, I want him to be kind,” she added.

In the emotional interview, Tiwa Savage also revealed that aside from her late lover, she has been unlucky in her other relationships.

“There is hardly any relationship I would look back at and see anything positive. They are all d***! Actually, there is one, but he passed away. May his soul rest in peace. He was incredible,” she said.
